this is the problem i upgraded my xbox hardrive with XBMC, working fine until my brother used it, he watch a DVD then switched the XBOX off. in the morning went to switch it on the light started flashing red.
basically nothing displays on the screen and the LED is flashing red fast , NOT red and green.
HELP plz

i have had issues with XBMC, it seems to be pretty unstable for the most part...
have you tried putting in a game cd (the one you modded your xbox with) and reload the softmod? if that fails, check out this link...
Another possibility is that red/orange means the A/V pack is shot. See if you can borrow someone else's A/V cord and see if that fixes the problem.
BTW: for DVDs you should use DVDx its on the AID cd... much better for playing DVD movies then XBMC...
BTWII: More information on your problem will prob. get you more helpful replies... mod chip or softmod? then what softmod did you use? or modchip? you use any custom skins for XBMC? some of the skins will cause it to crash every now and then... etc etc

mantralapse i think you need to stay in university for a long time, it has nothing to do with XBMC at all, Its just that the EEPROM is no longer functional, nor recoverable, Heres what you need to get your xbox back, 1. A mod chip 2. A New harddrive 3.AID 3.0 _________________

Oh and unless you have an eprom back up of your harddrive then you wont need to get a new harddrive. _________________

I just got done reading this forum "Hotswap:Recover a hd without eeprom back up" Could give that a try. If that doesnt work...
