Hi There !
I've used XBOXHDM to softmod my XBox, and now it boots to EVOX no problem, well with the DVD ejected anyway. It also attempts to run backup games, but tends to fail saying the disk may be damaged
Either way, I'd rather copy games to the hard drive and run from there
However, EVOX FTP is awful, I can download no problem, but can't upload files that are bigger than about 50k, it errors with a 426 connection failed. I've searched everywhere, and loads of people are having the same problem, but no-one has managed to fix it
And yes, I have tried the change to short filename, disable PASV etc
So I would like to load a new dashboard with a proper FTP, say UnleashX or Avalaunch maybe
What are my options to do this? can I boot to Linux (after hotswapping the unlocked drive) and copy the XBE from the CD if I copy it there before burning the ISO?
Or do I need to do a full reinstall of one of those Dashboards as part of an exploit?
Also, if I just copy the XBE, where should I put it?
I currently an XBE on the C drive, as well as one under E:\ROOT\

how about more info what softmod etc etc etc...
but just get aid 3 or somthing and just replace the dashboard ... but i dont know your directrys since i dont know what softmod your running... so tell us what softmod u have helps.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Ah ok, sorry about that, I'm a bit unsure myself to be honest, but I'll give you as much info as I can. To be honest, I followed a tutorial, and it all worked, but I'm not entirely sure exactly what was loaded
As you can tell, I'm a complete newbie !
I used XBOXHDM 1.9 to do the hotswapping and get access to the hard drive, backed up the C drive, ran a script written by a dude called LDOTS which installed the UXE exploit and the EVOX dashboard, I think ! thats what the tutorial suggested anyway
All of this was included on a Linux ISO image that is generated by the XBOXHDM I had

oh ok so then your running uxe ltools...
i'v encouterd this softmod and let me tell you it is very dangrouse ... if u have ftp access i recommend backing up everything .... especialy your eeprom...
this ltools and my sid2 were my reasons why i messed up and ended up being an elite member here.. yep those were the days total noob... anyways gettin off there.
back up all your xbox to safe keeping on pc. u dont need x y z or d those r temp files and d = drive .. tell me did u backup your retail ms dash?
i would remove this softmod asap .... sooner or later ur going to screw up xbox and gonna have issues..
it happens by mistake ...
sid4 on the other hand is a history in softmods it is desgined for noobies and script so u cannot mess up xbox.
get sid4 or get aid3 ... BUT ftp xbox 1st for safe keeping...
after u ftp then u can safely change the dashboard or change the softmod as i suggest softmod then dash from there.
and i hate evo-x tooo simple unleash x on the other hand is simple for novice and perfect as well for advance users... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

I did backup the eeprom yes, in fact I'm pretty sure I backed up everything on the C drive using the guide, I have a folder called ORIG_BACKUP that has folders called Audio, Fonts, xboxdashdata and xodash, then it has xbox book.xtf, xbox xtf and xboxdash.xbe
Do you think this is the original MS stuff?
I have downloaded all drives from my XBox to my PC using FTP, as I can get stuff off no problems
So what should I do next, do you have a link to a SID4 tutorial?
Can I install it using the Hotswap method, or could I perhaps now unlock the hard drive seeing as I have the eeprom file and just copy stuff over using CD?

if u have everything in order you shouldn't have an problem loading the linux and uninstall from there. get aid 3 it has sid4.5 read on the fourms but aid 3 is a torrnet and its very fast right now due to seeders.. i'd suggest get it ... read aid 3 .... ther is the link.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

if u get aid 3 then the files and everything should be there so dont uninstall the uxe until u pop aid 3 in there and do its instractions on changing softmod..
if u uninstall softmod u need to get the files via mem card cuz it wont let unsigned codes go throught or ftp ... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
