Hi All,
I want up update the apps on my xbox at the moment, specifically XBMC.
I have a question i hope someone can help me with.
How to i remove the softmod completely? as in start from scratch again from a "fresh" unmodded box. when i do this, will that remove EVERYTHING, as in all the app's etc... i've installed?
I realise now, that all i'm going to use is XBMC, so that's all i want installed, and would like to have it as my dash. i don't play back up games (only play 360 now) and don't watch DVD's on it (have an Upscaling HDMI dvd player for that!)
I really hope someone can help me with this.

well if you want to just clear everything, just use AID 2.11 or 3.0 to reformat your harddrive. First your E drive then your C drive then back up your ms dashboard in the C drive. That should work. DOn't restart the disk until you back your msdash in your C drive. I think that will do it.

Hi,
i don't want to reformat everything, just remove the softmod, so i can start again! so if i use the uninstall softmod option, will that also get rid of any APP's i've installed or will i have to remove them seperately??

You could use AID and reformat everything, but that maybe a little much for what you want. While using AID you could just install XBMC as your Dash and use the file manager to delete all of your other apps. The apps should be in a folder labled "APPS" either under the E: or F: partition.
To answer your question, Yes, if you format your hdd it will wipe everything off of it. Then you have to install the origonal dash back on it. Resoftmod it and install XBMC.

Well to me it sounded like "starting over" meant reallt starting over. So I assumed he meant reformatting. Sorry belmulletman, misunderstand what you wanted. Kinda busy in class today. Gay project. But yea just use file manager. Then do what he said.

cheers for the replies guys, i'll give it a go when i get home... if i get stuck or confused i'll drop a post...
oh, and the reason i asked, is because i'm puttin on the new build of XBMC, and read somewhere that i had to delete someold files before installing new version! is this correct? oh, and will it give me the option on the AID disk to use XBMC as my default dash?! oh, and does it matter if i use the AID 3 disk now, and i used the AID 2.11 disk to do the original install?
Sorry for all the questions, sorta new to this... thanks for all the help guys and gals...

but u dont need to remove softmod...
but u did staed " i want a fresh " as in u want to start over...
if u want to remove softmod then u cannot run xbmc .. unsiged codes...
do u want it to be retail order?? or just wanna have xbmc as a default dash???
if so then u can just use aid3 and choose xbmc as a dash...
why would u wanna delete everyig if ur going 2 re mod it ????
