Hi,
I am going to me softmodding my new v1.6x xbox in the next couple of days.
I gather the backup of the std m$ dash is vital if the softmod ever goes wrong.
What is the recomended 'location' to backup the dash ?
I am going to use SID 3 and AID 2.11 FINAL for the mod.
Any help is appreciated ! _________________

Ok, my question is will the backup of the MS dash save your game saves/soundtracks too, or does that just backup the system software, and ignore anything you've added to it?
Sorry, I'm just now getting around to modding my box, and I really don't want to loose the saves that won't fit on the memory cards....

m$ Backup is exactly that.. It only saves the XBOX SYSTEM C:\ to the E:\ parition so when you want you can rollback to how your xbox was originally.. (no mod installed)..
There is no way it could backup everything unless DJB could write a small script which connects to a windows share and dumps it.. It could be done but i doubt anyone has the time.

Ok, I got the gusto last night and it worked, funny thing was that I didn't format any of the drives, just backed up the MS Dash, and it didn't erase my game saves. Maybe that fact could be added to the step-by-step so someone else like me doesn't have to worry about loosing the bigger game saves...
