Im new to this , but not new to computers and I was wondering with a 250G HDD it would seem that adding and deleting games etc. the drive would become a mess is there a xbox based defrag app

no there isnt... a few teams have tried but no one has figured it out. FATX must be more difficult than they expected. the only thing i can say is back everything up on a pc hdd and if things get too slow or buggy reinstall everything.
