I have been searching all morning and figured I would post here for some input as well. I am having a hard time getting my xbox to boot up properly. When it's working properly I hit the power button and the dashboard menu loads right up with the LED button turning to a solid red. When I have problems it doesn't boot right away and the LED button flashes green for a second or two and then goes to solid green with no video at all. If I keep trying to cut it on and off it eventually boots up okay and runs normally.
My search this morning has yielded two possibilities:

Another guy suggested that maybe it was the power supply shorting out but my symptoms don't seem consistent with the power supply blurb:

Power Supply failure, the darn thing just wont turn on. Usually preceded by a popping sound right after attempting to turn on. In addition to the pop there is usually a hot smell and possibly faint smoke. Check out this Link if you want to take a crack at repairing. I find this to be a waste of time since most often the fuse blew for a reason and if you do not fix the cause it will just blow again.
Any advice or suggestions are greatly welcome. Thanks in advance.
