If the Xbox that you are bringing me on Thursday has already been on XBL then you will not be able to go on XBL with that machine and a larger HD.
If you have a brand new machine that has never been on XBL and you install a larger HD, then go to XBL you will be okay.
The reason is, MS stores information regarding your hardware when you first login to XBL. It grabs your HD serial number and eeprom information too.
When I mod your Xbox on Thursday I'll be putting in a 120GB HD that obviously won't match their information. So, even if you disable the mod chip bios and boot right from the MS bios you will still get banned.
Your only other option would be to either go with an Xtender kit so you can keep your stock HD in the machine and have two other HD's to boot to as well. This way, you can just boot up the xbox with the stock HD, then disable the mod chip bios by booting the MS Bios.
Or, you will have to pop the top off your Xbox (Six Screws), then disco the IDE cable and power cable to the larger HD and plug it into the stock HD.
That is a pain in the ass, but a way to get around it.
The only other option is to buy a brand new mod so you have a machine that has never been on XBL before. You can probably sell your machine on Ebay for $100.00
Please let me know what you want to do, as I have already ordered your 120GB HD.

Yes you can. Or, you can just do an account recovery on the new machine. Either way is up to you.
To do the account recovery, just select it and you will need to know some basic information. Such as credit card on file, address, phone number, stuff like that.
If you give matching information, they will program your account onto your xbox for you. Then, they will take the eeprom information that you previously used and disallow that machine from connecting to your account ever again.
