I just upgraded to the latest XBMC from T3CH and tested it. It works great. Now I have to rename my XBMC_new folder to XBMC so it will boot the new version. Wes's tutorial says I should launch my previous dashboard, but I can't seem to find it. Currently I boot directly nto XBMC when the xbox is turned on.

So, do I re-install it from the AID disk? I did see options to install the dashboards onto C or E, but I am afraid of destroying my XBMC install and am not sure what to do.

Old install
E:\XBMC\

New Install
E:\XBMC_new\

Thanks.

So are you running a softmod or a chip?

Try launching a stock MS game and see if it will let you do the live update but don't hook up your Ethernet cable.

I ran Mech Assault and it asked me for a new profile, but there was no option for Live Update.

When I was tinkering around before, there was a way to get back into the original xbox dashboard, but it didn't have any type of file manager which I could use to change a directory name.

OK. I figured it out.

I had the original installation in E:\XBMC\
I had the new installation in E:\XBMC_new\

First:
Test the new installation to make sure it works properly.
Do not power-off during the following procedure!!!!

1) Boot the original xbox install and run the new one by navigating into it's install directory and selecting the .xbe .
2) Go to filemanager under the new install and change the oringinal XBMC diretory name to XBMC_old.
3) Now navigate to the XBMC_old\ directory and run it.
4) Go to the filemanager and rename the new install from XBMC_new to XMBC
5) Reboot and you will be running the new installation
