Would that work instead of an Action Replay to softmod my XBOX? I ask because I am in Canada and can get one of those easily in a store but I can't find an Action Replay anywhere.

if it has a xbox memory card with it most likely it will work i used a action replay for mine

There's no reason why that MaxDrive wouldn't work, if it was designed for the Xbox.
