Ok, i finally got a controller that works with my mod chip (MuppetX). Now I gotta flash the bios. What bios do I need and where can I find them?
Also, when i push the power button with the mod chip installed, it reboots three times and then turns on with no video and the light cycling between red yellow and green. When i hoold the power button for a few swconds, it boots to the muppetx screen. it does this on both settings on the mod chip. Is this normal?
I DID have this posted in the VIP section but no responces so I deleted it and moved it here

Pretty much means one of connections are good enough, but the others aren't. Need to reseat the chip again. For a BIOS get one off of xbins. Look around on google for a tut on how to get into xbins if you dont know how to. _________________

Ok. So the rebooting over and over is because the chip isnt seated right?
As for the bios. Allready got evox M8 off xbins. Just cant figure out hoe to get it onto my console. I've burnt it to CD-RW and DVD and it keeps telling me that there are no bios on the CD's.
This is starting to tick me off. I've been working on this straight for 2 days now. I dont think my poor board can take much more soldering.

I not real familiar with the muppet X as far as bios size but please download the bios from the VIP downloads here. There is just about any bios you could want and they are all safe.

I got my bios from the VIP section. Just cant see to load them.
As for the rebooting problem. I re soldered my connections and removed a few "optional" connections and it now boots with no problems.
Is there any special tools that I need to flash my bios?

One, your drive may not be able to read the brand or type of disk. Try other ones. Also, you need to use nero to make the cd, and you need to put about 600 MB of dummy files on the cd with the bios. Also get a Xecuter bios, much better than EVOX. _________________

Well.. I go9t the bios flash and for some reason I used Slayers Auto installer and lo and behold, my xbox is all screwed up again. Slayers reflashed the bios and now, when I boot all I get is a error code 5. WTF do I do now?

Error 5 means the hard drive isn't locked with an EEPROM. Meaning the original bios is still on there, because a modded bios doesn't require the HDD to be locked. So i dont know wtf your doing to your xbox man... _________________

Thats the thing. The console booted with the chip. I flashed the bios with evox M8. Booted slayers. It gave me the option to load an original HDD or a larger HDD. I chose larger and it started installing. About an hour into the install it locked up tight. I had no choice but to reboot. When it rebooted it wouldnt read the boot cd again and went right back to the original bios. This is getting rediculous.

Ok simple then, put your old hdd back in and get your chip running again. Once its running again, put your new HDD in and get your Slayers disk in. Go to format, until you get to format larger HDD, click on format larger HDD. Then click format all. It should now work. On your way out lock the drive and you should be good. Even though if you got a modded bios you will only need to lock it if you wanna boot up the box without the chip on.
Edit: after you mod the box then you gotta make a Dash boot cd so you can FTP all your old Files to you new box. You will wanna FTP all your C:\ and E:\ files onto your comp from your old HDD, so you can put them on your new HDD.

I put the old drive back in (which has not been altered, just set aside) and its still booting to error 5. I give up.

Is there anyone here that would like to have a go at this nightmare for me if I shipped it to you? LOL.
I'm obviously only good at softmodding and would rather pay someone else to fix my mess if possible

What version is your xbox? And put up pics of your motherboard and show where you've soldered and where you put the pinheads, etc, and I think thats the easiest way to tell if you placed it right, then if you can show or give a literal step by step of what you've done, I may be able to tell you if some minor detail was done wrong to cause this error. Seriously, everything. And if I figure out your problem and you can't fix it, then you can send it away. And 5 is typically the HDD is not locked, so if you can use a tool to lock it on your comp to transfer to your xbox, I'd do that. If you REALLY need I could probably just lock up the HDD and all from my Xbox if you were to send it.
Edit: I hear this Burner6999 or something like that is quite good and popular with the xbox, I'd say talk to him first. And hope you haven't burnt or shorted your board.
