Hello, I'm having trouble copying my old hard drive to my new one. I got the new drive as a gift. It is a SATA hard drive. I have a SATA to IDE converter on it. I'm using the HDD copy function on Smartxx OS. It says it's working, but when I put the new drive in by itself (not as slave) it won't work. I'm getting error 13.
Has anyone ever tried replacing their old drive with a SATA drive? I can't find any information on this. Please help.

In all honesty, your SATA drive would be much better off in your PC where it can benefit from the extra bandwidth and transfer speeds, it would be wasted in the Xbox. _________________ Chimp Tutorial

I don't have a PC. I have a laptop, an xbox, and a SATA hard drive. Does anyone have any drive copying advice? All I've tried so far is the "Copy HDD" function that comes with Smartxx OS, with no results. What's the best way to copy a hard drive- maybe one of the techniques out there will work for a SATA drive

Ive tried teh same thing and cant get it to work.. I think its the sata-ata converter. I got my pc to see it at 1st but wouldnt format it. I have a sata connection on one of my pc and formatted it and when i reconnect the converter to it my old pc dont see it. So i believe its in the adapter.
