ok i got a 120gb maxtor HDD and it is locked cuz my friend didnt know what he was doin and he cant find the correct eeprom for it and i was wondering if there is a way to unlock it and format it and start over? or is it just a paperweight no use at all? i rather have this in my box than a 80GB

if you can still use you dash you need to put configure magig in your f programs file run that and it will give you you r lock code and let you unlock the drive hope this helps if it dose let me know thanks

the hdd isnt operatable in an xbox when my friend locked it all the files didnt transfer when i run it in the box it gives me error #6 and red/green light is there an alternative

If you don't have the eeprom, you will have to use HDDunlock.com to unlock the drive. It will cost you, but it isn't as expensive as a new drive.
Are you sure you don't have the old eeprom somewhere? Never backed up the old C and E drives to the PC?

the software is free you download that from the site then you pay for the code.
dont you hate buying stuff then putting more money in to it.....

yeah i got an 80GB western digital in my xbox with LEDs in controller ports replaced the fan but its all worth it lol oh and thanks for your help i really appreciated it
