Hey, new to xbox and looking for help/suggestions in ripping dvd movies to harddrive in a compressed format. Bought my modded xbox mainly as a media server and have been really happy BUT is there a way to rip dvd movies to some kind of compressed format like xvid or something like that directly on the xbox? As far as I can tell DVD2XBOX just rips an image file to the HDD and I'm going to fill up my HDD pretty quickly. By the way is there any way video formt that might be more suitable than another for this? I know that you can do it on your PC and then FTP it to the xbox but it's just a bit too klunky to be practical for doing about 100 dvds. Any help would be appreciated TALLCAM - Melbourne Australia

plus on top of that you wont be satisfied on playback of movie why? simple cuz you cannot fast foward or skip chapter , you have to watch movies from start to end SORT OF like vhs tapes.... regardless of xbmc or another player or not _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

if you really want a no-pc dvd rip solution, put a linux distro on your xbox and use ffmpeg or whatnot.

what program on a pc do i use to rip them to my xbox? i already have dvd43 to decrypt them
