I am trying to upgrade a 120 gig hdd to 300 gig in a x2 softmod. I have a x3 chip and have formated the hdd and tranfered everything to it all programs and games but when I put the hdd back into the xbox it does not read G drive and any games? I don't know how it was first modded but it starts up with the x2 logo under the Xbox startup screen. Any help would be great.

Well depending on what dash you have, u may have to enable G in the settings, make sure that is done. If this does not work, please say so. That way we can help you! _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

F 278.8 gig and G 0. I have tried to format it and still no G. Is there something in the BIOS that would stop this? If so can i flash the bios back to factory?

If anyone can help me return this back to factory I can do the rest of the softmod. This has me at a loss though. I still have it reading all space to F and 0 to G....

K, if you have a X3 chip then likely you just need to adjust a setting in the BIOS. Are you running the X3 3294 bios? If your are, great, if not, you should be
If you are, do this:
Boot the xbox and hold the white button on your controller, this will bring you to the lice config screen
Choose "X3 Config Live"
Choose "Customize X3 Bios"
Choose "LBA 48 Mode"
Choose "F Drive upto 137GB - G Drive gets the rest" and not "F drive gets everything - No G Drive"

From what I heard, i thought you should stay away from the G drive for anything to put in there.

Stay away from it? What?
No, the G partition works fine. I assume what your referring to is that with very large drives (420GB+) you can get bad file fragmenting that will cause issues in the G drive, but only if the G is formatted with clusters < 32k. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
