Please disregard my last forum topic about copying an eeprom backup to my Action Replay memory card. Please do so because this is a complety new topic.
Never mind I found a crossover cable for fairly cheap though I do have one question about it. I know it is possible to connect my computer to the internet using usb but I wonder if can use both the usb and RJ-45(ethernet) port simultaneously to have two active connections. If this is possible can I connect the crossover cable to the RJ-45(ethernet) port on my cable modem and hook it up to the RJ-45 (ethernet) port on my xbox?
Please note that if my method above works please just inform me of that seeing as how my method below is a little bit complicated.
If it isn't possible to connect the crossover cable directly to the XBOX I wonder if my old DSL router would be of any use. My idea is if I hook the crossover cable up to the RJ-45(ethernet) port where it says LAN WAN wouldn't that give the router an active connection regardless of no phone cord in the DSL port. If it is possible to use a DSL router and a crossover cable can I hook an ethernet cable to another RJ-45(ethernet) port in the router and then connect it to my XBOX?
If one of my two methods work that would be great but my last question is do cable companies generally give out crossover cables or ethernet cords to hook the cable modem up to the pc?

Your Modem should have a USB port, just plug in the usb to your modem and pc then it should reconize that you connected hardware, just let it do its thing.
You can use the rj45 port to hook up your xbox(with cross over) or another pc(with crossover) to or router(without crossover), but no cross over is required if your hooking up the router to your xbox, the router it just needs a straight ethernet cord.
Normally you have to get the straight ethernet cord or crossover at a computer store, cable companys dont provide those. _________________

You can hook the crossover cable directly to the xbox and to your pc. As for a crossover cable you can make your own.

and dont make a cross over while hooked up to your pc and xbox, you can burn out the ports that way. _________________
