Do this for me and then make a reply post with all the settings of your pc.
1. Click 'Start Menu'
2. Then Choose 'Run'
3. Type 'cmd' on winxp/2k/nt or 'command' on win95/98/me
4. When Command Prompt comes up type 'ipconfig /all'
5. It will show all your network settings.. Write them down and make a reply with your settings.

we will get it fixed for ya mate.. You dont need a router.. You can connect with just 1 x PC and 1 x XBOX with a CROSSOVER CABLE..
last tip:
If you turn on INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING it will make your PC's IP ADDRESS THIS:
ip: 192.168.0.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0
Then all you have to do is make your XBOX IP ADDRESS:
ip: 192.168.0.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
You can change your XBOX IP ADDRESS By going into the EVOX DASHBOARD 'system settings'.
Just edit the ip address and then go to the bottom of the screen and click on 'SAVE AND EXIT'
You will have to reboot but then you should be able to ftp fine..
