Please hold all laughter until the end of the post. How do you connect the Xbox to download files and patches to it? Do you connect it to your PC? Or do you just connect it to your cable internet connection and browse online from an internal browser? Thank you all for your help in advance. _________________ Right now, my box is stock.

Its in the tutorials. Here it is.
PC Config for FTP to XBOX
Ok.. I got this pm from maddogtime when he first got his xbox and he loved the explaination so much he posted it again in the forums..
Maddogttime:
I've been trying to gain access to my xbox via ftp but it just wont connect I keep getting 'timed-out' every time..
My ftp is: 192.168.1.200 - doesnt it just use port 21 ??
I've tried both with IE and FLashFXP and it doesnt work
Forahobby:
ok..
1. click start menu
2. select 'run'
3. type in 'cmd' (winxp,2000) or type in 'command' for win95/98 etc
4. type 'ipconfig /all' or 'winipconfig'
5. it will show you all your pc network settings.
6. write them down
7. my home pc ip is 192.168.0.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. So just use this as a example.
8. I have my xbox setup with a static ip address of '192.168.0.2' with a subnet of '255.255.255.0' and a gateway of '192.168.0.1'. And have the static switch under xbox setting switched to 'YES' static..
9. reboot your xbox
IMPORTANT:
- if you are connecting directly from your network card to your xbox you should be using a crossover.
- if you are connecting from your hub/switch router etc to your xbox use a normal rj45 network lead..
my flashfxp settings:
example:
ip: 192.168.0.2 Port: 21
user: xbox
pass: xbox
press the 'f5' key to refresh when connected..
-------------
Also all the guys here are more than willing to help. So ask any questions you need helping with. RealMccloy should be on soon and he will help you out. As well as forahobby and DJB and many others. Good luck with your box man. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

Sry man I left out some vitals. First of your will have to have the Xbox modded. Below is one of the topis I had help on which is the same as yours just about.
hi SlamScraper,
Lets get you sorted ok..
Quote:
Do I use the tutorial PC Config for FTP to XBOX? and then connect my Xbox to my PC?
YES, Exactly.. The best way to explain it really is to think of the XBOX as a PC.. So just network your xbox into your pc hub/switch/router just like you would for another pc or if you dont have a router etc use a CROSS OVER CABLE to connect directly from your PC NETWORK CARD to your XBOX NETWORK CARD..
Quote:
Do I drag and drop? Also how do I connect the Xbox to the PC?
Yes, But you need to install a PC APPLICATION called 'FlashFXP'..
Then you connect to your xbox through flashfxp and drag and drop files over..
Thats how your connect your xbox to your pc.
To setup your xbox ip address you have to have evox dashboard or a aftermarket hacked dashboard (e.g. mediaxmenu, XBMC etc)
In EVOX Set your ip like this.
1. Turn on your xbox
2. Go to 'System Management'
3. Go to 'System Settings' (your xbox may be slightly different)
4. Bring up the screen which shows your XBOX IP ADDRESS info
5. Now just edit the info and add what ip addres you want for you xbox
6. Turn STATIC to YES or 'ON'
7. Go to the very bottom of the screen and choose 'SAVE & EXIT'
8. Reboot your xbox with your NETWORK CABLE CONNECTED
done!
hope this helps ya and is not too overboard.

hi HellfireCygnus,
I would suggest modding your xbox..
You wont believe what you can get it to do once you have a modchip installed.. Just pick any modchip and install it mate.. They all have different features but really they all do the same thing..
