First let me start by saying thank to everyone on here. Spent several hours yesterday doing research on how to softmod, pickup and action replay on the way home, and very few problems softmod'd my box last night. So thank you for all the hardwork and tutorials.

Now my questions...

Uninstalling apps that I installed, just delete the folder from the apps folder on the xbox via FTP or is there more to it?

msdash, I have the Evox loaded and on the main screen there is an option to Run or Load MS Dash, but when I attempt to run it all I get is a Loading screen. Any ideas?

Games, the reason i'm trying to run the msdash is to get to a list of saved games so I can delete them as needed, unless there is another way to delete them either view another installed app / Evox dash / FTP.

Thanks again for all the hard work.

simple questions but I'll be glad to answer.

1) yes just go into your ftp and delete the app. you don't want anymore and that's it. all gone.

2)Well what did you use to install the softmod? Bc if you used sid3, you can't get back to the m$dash unless you upgrade to sid4 or SID4.5. I have sid 3 bc I dont care about live on that xbox anymore. So it doesn't matter to me. But just go to your SID 3 file(if that's what you used), and put in sid4.5 and reboot it and it should work. BUt make sure to put a backup copy somewhere on ur E drive in case you screw up.

3)Yes there is a much easier way. All you need to do is get AID3.0 and go to apps. and install Avalaunch or Anod-x or Unleash-x can't remember, as apps. Then install x-select and reboot your xbox. A thing should pop up to change loading options. There you just choose one of those other dashes to load up and then they should have the gamesaves file on there. That should be easier than going back to m$dash anymore.

I hope I answered these fully enough for you. PLz meassage again if you need more info.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm in the process of downloading AID3 and i'll give SID4 a try to see if that fixes the problem. I do have another question. Upgrade. I have been doing some more research and i've found several post that say you need to roll back to retail settings before you install SID4 or SID4.5. Do I need to attempt to roll back first or can I just install over top of SID3? If I need to roll back is there a tutorial on how to get this done?

actually idk if you actually have to "retail back" as you say, but I think you can just overwrite it but I'm not 100% sure. My friend said he just overwrote it and it worked fine. But maybe it would be safer to just reformat you e and c drives and start over. I don't know where a tut. is on here buit I'll look for ya if I can.

But if you are going to get AID 3.0 then you really don't need sid4.5 unless you plan to get back onlive(which I don't recommend). But yea just use AID and you can upgrade any dash or app. you want or need. then use xselect(i luv it) to program the way you want to boot up your xbox.

to install any of the SID 4 and up, you must have the following.

Valid MS Dash backup in E:\backup\MS\ (usually done by most SID installers.
Backup your eeprom with SID 4 menu.

Thats it, if you have SID 3, you should only ftp your ms dash to location mentioned above, and you cold boot your game to boot SID 4 gamesave, or manually load up "install.xbe" found in E:\UDATA\21585554\000000000000\ to load up the SID 4 installer and dismounting if any.

To install SID 4,4.5 for a virign xbox.

order
-install gamesaves to xbox hdd
-put game of install choice (one of the 3 exploitable)
-boot SID menu
-backup eeprom
-backup ms dash
-install softmod>choose boot>choose dash
-turn off xbox, turn on
-press "A" to install virtual C and complete it
-done

To install over mostly other softmods installed.

order
-install gamesaves to xbox hdd
-have ms dash in E:\backup\MS\
-either boot game of exploit or manually launch the xbe mentioned before
-boot SID menu
-backup eeprom
-install softmod>choose boot>choose dash
-turn off xbox, turn on
-press "A" to install virtual C and complete it
-done

NOTE: If you want to be able to install the Ndure which will allow you to boot to Live Dash for xbox live usage with open tray, you are required to have ms dash 5960, or else this can't be installed, while the other install boot options will install flawlessly.

Let me see if I understand this so I don't mess something up.

Following this post - http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/postt5378.html

I can simply boot the new SID4 from AID3.
Delete all files on C via FTP.
Install the MS Dash from the Auto-Install
Reboot
Install softmod again, i'm guessing via the game hack.
Then install my dash board of choice from the Auto Installer.
Then isntall the MS 5960 patch.

If these are not the correct steps would someone be so kind as to spell it out for me just a little.

yes that is what you will need to do. That's is probably what I will do with my friend's xbox. He wants it to be live-enabled again. I'm glad I have that tut. now. I will use that on his maybe when I get home.

I can simply boot the new SID4 from AID3. yes

Delete all files on C via FTP. not really needed, but AID will install and wipe old files on C

Install the MS Dash from the Auto-Install yes

Reboot it will be in retail and you can't boot AID again, only retail games

Install softmod again, i'm guessing via the game hack. this is correct

Then install my dash board of choice from the Auto Installer. after you have finished the install of SID 4.5 yes

Then isntall the MS 5960 patch. this is no longer needed, and it was only for SID 2, and 3, since the ms dash was accessable from same directory, now that SID 4.5 has virtual partition installed, all files are in a hidden partition, and you ms dash will run properly without this patch, if you apply this patch you might get error 13!!!
