OK, for those of you may have read the 160GB maxtor thread I have had problems trying to upgrade my XBoX HDD but i'm abanding that now. My last attempt has rendered a 200\gb Maxtor drive invisible in Windows Explorer, however checking CMos does indeed recognise the drive so I think my failed attempt at installing the Linux from the Linux.iso backup from my XBox has installed something that renders the drive incompatible to Windows XP.
Does anyone know of any ideas on how to retrieve the HDD so I can continue using it with Windows ?

Thanks,
Vega....

right click on My Computer, choose "Manage", click on "Disk management" and you should see the drive listed there. You should be able to format it from there to any windows compatable file structure.

Thanks Greven but no joy.
I had to resort to inserting the 'dead' drive in the PC and using the Windows XP disc to format it as though I was about to install the O/S from scratch in a new machine. It worked though so I then replaced the real Master drive, placed the 'dead' drive back in then formatted it in Windows Explorer since it could now see it.
At least now I can go about attempting to install the Linux CD without fear of losing the drive indefinetly.

Cheers....
