most likely the ms dash wasnt the latest msdash 5960 in that case you need to update it...do you know what ms dash you had befor softmodding?this is the fix i used when gettin that error although its kinda round about....i used pirrup's hotswap trick to build the hd to be stock with ms dash, then went and used nknaves SID v4 to do an install in dual boot retail....ah well hope this helps a lil...

xed is here but its a torrnet once u fully download it do This
UNINSTALL ALL SOFTMODS it will ask to turn of DONT TURN IT OFF
then look for the INSTALL MS DASH 5960 this is ur prob.. again it will ask to turn off.. NOW U CAN TURN OFF .. and u should have retail xbox.. then u can redo the softmod

its not that im trying 2 be like the hero or somtin
but it sounds more complicated using aid and pirrups instrctions...
maybe cuz i havnt tryied aid but i dont have probs that is why i dont neeed it.. But as long as ur xbox is workin righ ey guys?? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

I've registered just to say that pirrup's advice was spot on. I had the same problem (and dreaded error 21!) and following his advice worked a treat.
MS Dash works from Hacked Dash just fine - hooray for AID2

I am trying to get SID 3 to boot the XBox dash also, I am looking uder the part where pirrup says "go back to softmod section install a dashboard (hacked) reboot" but i dont see anything that says "hacked" which part do i pick ?? _________________ 1.0 - X2 - 5032CL - 200G Maxtor - Evox
