Ok, so I downloaded aid 2.11 final, like 2 weeks ago. Couldn't get my box to read a cd-r. Don't have advd burner, nor any friends around here that i know of. Just moved, again. Well I finally figured to ftp to my box the files. No probs. apps folder only has config,xbpart,linux,bioscheckr,dvdx,dvd2xenigmah videoswitch. when i go to E:\Apps, all the other proggies are there. How do I fix that?
Next, I don't have a skin for xbmc. gave me the error message: No Suitable skin found. We require at least version 1.3000. No skins in xbmc skin folder? DOn't know where they are. couldn't find them. Help!!
Next, emulators doesn't show the emulators from aid. have to go to file explorer to access them. How do i fix that?
Also, I can't setup a dash to stay after i shutdown box. Need Help with that!
Well I know I do things the hard way, it make you learn more than following, but this is ridiculus. I wish I knew of like an autoexec for the aid while it is on the box's drive. Thx in advance for reading this dumass's struggles.

It does start on it's own. What bios did you install? What version of Xbox do you have? That may be part of the issue. The disk doesn't need to be DVD, a CDR would work just fine. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

No, I'm saying that if you put the disk in the DVD drive it should auto start. I also understand that if the entire disk is moved to HDD, it can be run from there too, but I've never had cause to try doing that. Well, after i finally finished ftping aid onto my harddrive. I decided to try and install my new harddrive by hot swapping. Definitely a no-no. so i watched as the service warning came on and tried to restart my box, over and over and over again. but to no avail. So tomorrow, i will have to buy another xbox, and try try again. I do have a question though. If i buy a new xbox, configure it properly. would i be able to reformat or prepare the old one back to its old self again?
I got excited when i saw the auto installer screen and the music playing. I was almost there. Oh well, i learned my lesson.
thx again to shark2th, da_goat, and eryone else who helped me get on track.

WAIT!!!! I don't think you need to buy another xbox just yet. As long as you do have a working "hacked" bios, just order the dvd of aid from this site. Than just boot up aid and format and install all the dashboards and applications you want. It doesn't matter if anything is on the existing harddrive or not, just boot aid. _________________ XBOX- V1.0

the question is...............
what if this hacked bios doesn't match to the xbe files that are installed to the hdd.
example: AID will install a dashboard of choice to a chosen partition, but the name of the xbe doesn't match the 1 on the bios setup, you'll never boot anything.
to avoid this, try to always install as "evoxdash.xbe", it's the most probable.
oh, and burn to CDRW, only samsung drive reads CD-R.

I don't understand. The bios only allows you to play homebrew software. AID is the homebrew software. It shouldn't matter as long as you have a good hacked bios like the x2 4983.06 . Maybe I just misunderstod what you wrote, but at least try it before you go out and spend $150 on a new xbox.
And if it works, you can go ahead and send me a $100 instead of spending the rest on a new system. Just kidding, unless you want to. hehe. _________________ XBOX- V1.0

So after a night of hard drinking to forget about the box i just burned. I went and bought a box, dvd durner, new tower, surround sound, etc. for $500 from a guy that is moving. So now I have like four or 5 hdd and two boxes. Sweet. now i read that you people tell me that i can recover my drive. that makes it 6 drives. now i am copying aid, and the hd tool onto ccd-r so i can burn them to dvd-r's and fix my box. put in a new drive.
