I am having a problem when using xboxhdm_v1.9 to install the files onto a hard drive. It is a maxtor 40gb D740X-6L. I get to typing xboxhd step, then it gives me the following error.
This script assumes /dev/hda is the device used for creating or rescueing an xbox hard drive
No Disk found on /dev/hda(primary master)!
Shut down, connect a drive & reboot
Any help would be great, it is becoming very much a pain to get this HD to take the place of the OEM one. I have changed the jumper too see if I placed it wrong, but that didnt help either. Thanks in advance!

Where do you have the drive's jumper?
I have had some HDs that will only work on CS and some that only work on Master. Try both. _________________ LED Rings $6 (doesnt include LEDs) LED ring pic

to see if your hd is compatible download and isntall this
http://www.thejenko.co.uk/files/aida.exe
after installed run it then click storage then click ATA. In the device description part choose the drive then scroll down to ware the tick boxes are under ATA device features look at the security mode one if it says supported next to it it should work otherwise it would say not supported
hope that helps

That exact HD has been used on a xbox.
The person used Config Magic to set it up. You can also try this:

having a slight problem, I cannot get the Config Magic to boot on my computer. I created an ISO with the eeprom file in it, and it dosent reconize it, and dosent boot from it. I am supose to be doing this by unhooking my other HD and booting from the new xbox one right (using PC). any help would be good. thanks

you need to get the hdd to lock before it will work in your Xbox. you gotta straighten up your xboxhdm problem.

back at square one with the same error message as before. I quoted my first post so that you can see the error message. It is not the jumper setting because I tried it on all of them....not sure where to go from here becuase booting with the linux cd dosent seem to be working for the hd.
