I just wanted to know if I could rename the executable of a dashboard to Default.xbe and put it in a folder in the apps folder. I want to install UnleashX, Avalaunch and MXM as apps to show my brother who wants to softmod, but doesn't like EvoX.

edit: another reason for me doing this is, I might be able to FTP to my xbox while at one of those dashes. at the moment, my brother can FTP to my xbox (and look at my various *ahem* images) and I can't.

Damn! Didn't work. Maybe it's because I had to use a CD to get them on there. anyway, I put them all in there, went to apps and ran them and they all just went back to EvoX.Should I try running them from XBMC?

edit: that didn't work either. If I can get my brother to let me use FTP, I can probably put them on with that.

The easiest possible way is to download the Auto INstaller Deluxe .rar files.. (http://www.aideluxe.com or http://www.aid.xbox-hq.com).. Smile

Once you download the .rar files you need to unrar them using winrar on your computer (its free: http://www.winrar.com)..

Then once winrar has finished unrarring the aid.rar files you will have a folder on your pc with AID2.iso in it..

Just burn the .iso file to a DVD-R and boot in your xbox..

You can then install all the apps directly from your xbox dvdrom.. Smile
Hope that helps

Yeah, I know about AID, I've had it since 2.0 came out. But I thought that when it said "install dashboards" it meant, "overwrite the dashboard you have at the moment" and not "install this dash as an app".

edit: that is what it does, right?

If you use AID2.. You go into the 'INSTALL APPLICATIONS' sections and then choose to install EVOX as a app, XBMC as app, UnleashX as a app or whatever.. Smile

Im positive you can do it althought i havent played with AId in quite a while now myself.

cheers,

FH
