I've got my xbox connected to a Buffalo ethernet converter, which in turn is wirelessly bridged to my lynksys router. After running the exploit, I cannot see my xbox as an ftp server from flahxp. What am I doing wrong here? Does the xbox have to be physically plugged into the router?

yes it does, with a crossover cable. and make sure that the DNS server ip is the same as the ip in your internet protocol tcp/ip.
here is the whole tutorial, just do exactly wat it says and it should work
Thanx, that's a great tutuorial. But man, I'm diasappointed I can't use my wireless xbox for this. Running a cable is kind of impossible so I guees I'm sol.

I admit my networking skills are weak, so don't flame me for a dumb question. But how is a PC wirelessly talking to my buffalo ethernet converter any better than the router doing the same thing?

I'd have to run a mile of cable, and it'd be a bitch to conceal it all and not be tripping over it. It's wireless or nothing for me.

you only really need it for about 1hr or so so just bring the xbox to where ur comp is do it and then disconnect it. unless your using someone elses wireless thats really not yours (like your neibors and they dont know about it) then i guess thats a different story HAHA

you only need to use it once to get all the files either from your computer to xbox, or from xbox to computer. one they are placed over they will stay there. its the same thing as having 2 hard drives in your computer
ex. you have a song in drive C: you bring it over to drive E: even if you take out drive C: the song will still be in drive E:. FTP is a process of transfering files, once the files are transfered its there unless you delete it.

Ok, I guess I was thinking that if the ftp app can't see my xbox, then I don't know why I'd have better luck with xbmc streaming to it. I'll try going the cabled route for the xbmc copy over and see where that goes. Thanx for your help.

Can you ping the XBOX connected to the wireless ethernet bridge?
Because I know you can ftp to an xbox using a wireless gaming adapter so if you can ping it then we can try and trouble shoot it some more but the wireless adapter is not the problem. Also for future reference you only use a crossover cable when connecting like devices such as PC to PC or XBOX to PC but when connecting unlike devices like a PC to Router or XBOX to Router you use a straight through cable. So any further information would help. But I am 100% sure you can ftp to it over wireless it will just be slower.
