I let a friend borrow my softmod instructions and exploit files to hook up another friends XBOX. So he brings it to me with a code 16 which I think is a missing dash. I asked him what he did and from what I can gather he missed the firs step.. backing up the Eeprom. So my question is whats the easiest way to recue it. From what I've read here it looks like the simplest fix is to get a mod chip and restore it. Is this the best way? Any info is much appreciated. G

Heh, no. Easiest way is to resoft mod. Just pop in your softmod game of choice (what ever one was used originally) turn off the system so it swallows up the game Very Happy and then turn it on with the power button. The game will boot, and then you can go ahead and re softmod.
