I've downloaded AID onto my computer and since i dont have an MS dashoboard, i was wondering if it was possible to burn AID onto any kind of disc and install it onto my Xbox that way. If you havent read my first post, this is why i dont have a Ms Dashboard...
Linux Dashboard + Format HD = BAD! No!!!
I succesfully installed linux onto my xbox with AR and Mech Assualt. Afterwards, I was checking out my new modded xbox and i saw the option to "format Hardrive." By this i thought it meant to clean my hard drives of any unwanted or bad folders, but i was wrong. Apparently i cleaned out MY WHOLE HARD DRIVE. All saves, songs, and both my orignal and linux dashboard were deleted. Now when i turn on my xbox all i get i the Xbox and microsoft logo, but my games still work. I want to coninue modding my Xbox, but i need my orignal dashboard to start working again. Does anyone know what I can do? is there a way to install my old dashboard back onto my xbox? or is there a way i can put linux back onto my xbox in my current state.

Well, if you formatted the whole drive (C, E, and F) then you must do a hotswap. But if you used UnleashX to run the format, I'm pretty sure you only formatted your C drive, which can be fully recovered.
First, pop in mechassault and go check your save menu. If you still see Linux there, you should be ok to mod. If you're using SID 4.5, however, you'll need a proper MSDash backup. Which, hopefully, you still have because you didn't format E.
Now, in the case that your whole drive is buggered, then you'll have to use the following tutorial:
Follow it to the T. I mean, if it says pause for 3.5 seconds, pause for 3.5 seconds, not 3.4, not 3.6. 3.5. Follow?
