So...I think my DVD drive is about to die on me (I drive on air in NFSMW while the background polys and textures are loading, NBA2K6 is near-unplayable because it takes forever to play replays).
3 questions:
1. If this is my DVD drive dying, what is the best replacement for it?
2. If it is something to do with my harddrive, then what is the best upgrade?

Typically, DVD drives will give you read errors if going bad. Not to say your problem definitely is not dvd drive related, but at this point it's impossible for me to say.
You usually get dirty disk error or unreadable disk errors.
HD issues can vary. HDs that are having issues could cause sluggish results, but again..right now until there is a total failure it's hard to say what your problem is.
You can try cleaning out your cache to see if you get better results. _________________ Xbox 1.4

Mine did the same thing you are talking about my nba2K6 took forever to load and some games stopped whille they where playing. Its really up to you how much you wana spend. reight now I have a samsung drive but I hear the phillips is pretty good for the price. if you get a hard drive you wont have to play your games from the dvd drive and it will save use on your drive. whenever i buy a game I put it on my hdd and play it from there its so much easier to switch between games without messing with those disks
