Hi, I am new to this and have probably just made a stupid mistake, tried looking in tutorials etc but can't seem to find anything.
I am trying to put games onto the Hdd. when I ftp into the xbox using either ED@chip or evolution, it shows all the folders C, D, E etc. but when I click on D: it shows no files even when a game disk is in drive D.
If I can find the files where do I put them is it in the root of E and do I transfer the files to my pc then just transfer them back to xbox hdd folder E?? it would help if I could at least see them first!!
any help would be greatly appreciated

Depending on the size of your HD and how it is partitioned there can be a few answers for your question.
If you have a game that you downloaded from the internet, and you are FTP'ing them to your xbox HD then you would want to utilize the Game Folder depending on your set up.
If you put an original xbox game into your DVD Drive on your xbox, then the easiest thing to do is use a program like PxHDD Loader or DVD@xbox to rip the game to your xbox HD. Then if you wish, you can FTP to your PC and burn to a disk, or just leave on your HD.
Then, when Evolution X dashboards is up select the option "Games on HD' and you will have your list.
Hope that points you into a solid direction. Sounds like you need to get an understanding how files are stored on your machine.
You may want to take a look at some tutorials.
You are not going to be able to just transfer files from a game disk to your PC then back to the xbox HD to play. Not without patching them.
That's what PxHDD loader and DVD2Xbox is for...it rips and PATCHES the game so you can play off HD.

Hi thanks for the advice, I have read through a few more of the tutorials and re installed evolution dashboard using the auto installer which is great, when it installed the options to select launch apps menu dvd2xbox and pxhdd loader are unselectable so I have got the dvd2xbox file now and tried ftping it into E apps folder created by auto installer and edited the Evox.ini file to point to E:apps dvd2xbox instead of the default G:apps folder which does not exist due to it being original hdd, but when I rebooted they are still not available neither are xbmc or DVD movie player, I understand that these apps are probably not installed by the auto installer but cannot understand why dvd2xbox will still not work it is now shown in the E: apps folder when I ftp the xbox but it wont work. have I edited the correct part of Evox.ini or am I just a complete dumb ass and am missing something obvious despite reading the tutorials??
Please help as all I want to do at the moment is play my original games from the xbox hdd without the discs and it is drivin me nuts!! _________________ XBOX v1.4:

I bet I know why they are unselectable.
Do you have all of your roms or any important files backed up??
What you should do is reformat the entire drive. The same thing happened to me when I used the 1.3 HQ Autoinstaller.
DJB knew exactly what I did, but I can't remember what he told me. I think he asked if I rebuild the HD after I already had evox on it or something to that effect.
If you chose rebuild entire drive then it effected your C drive which overwrote evox files.
What I would do is wipe the HD clean and just start over. That way you will be able to select your apps. Sure you can FTP into it and clean it up manually, but it's more time consuming.
Let me know if you get it going. You will really like PxHDD Loader and DVD2Xbox..they are awesome apps.

Glad to have helped. I did the same thing during my last mod. Had to start from scratch then all was fine.
