Posted: Sat May 20, 2006 4:50 pm Post subject: Help on buying a modchip and locking/unlocking hd.
So before i had these problem, i have softmodded about 10 xboxed and installed hard drived in about 4 xboxes. I sorta know what im doing but lately i make some mistakes and got confused.
I have 2 softmodded xboxes that im trying to fix. The 1st xbox boots to error 16 and the 2nd was fine untill i unlocked the hd and then relocked it with the wrong key. I do not have eeproms for either xbox. But both eeproms are backed up on each xbox hd. I plan on installing a 300gb hd in the xbox with error 16.
To get past error 16 on the 1st xbox, and unlock and relock the 2nd xbox's hd im guessing i need a modchip.
So, which modchip should i get and where should i buy it from? I plan on using 1 modchip for fixing both these xboxes. Can i install the modchip, fix the xbox and softmod it, and then unintall the modchip and use it in the other xbox to do the same thing? Any suggestions on how to go about fixing these xboxes?
I was thinking about getting the DuoX modchip. I would rather get a modchip that does not need to be soddered so i can easily remove it. [/b]

The Xenium Sp.Ice is a good chip to use. I like it because of it's OS and it is easy to install. Takes only a couple of minutes to install the solderless adaptor.
Once you flash a bios, it will boot straight to the AID disc.
That way you can manage the hdd (install softmods, dashboards, apps, format patitions). _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

i also will second that the xenium ice chip is very user friendly for beginning chippers. The Xecuter is also a great chip, but i would recommend the Xenium for starters..
there are also other cheapers chips (duox2, xchanger) that are also good solid chips if you only are looking to lock up the new hard drives and go _________________ XCM Halo 2 blue case
