Now that I got to the point where I have the Softmod 4.5 N-knave Ed. loaded onto my xbox, I am stumped as to how the AID fits into the whole picture. Since I did the softmod, I don't need to go through:
1) Backup/Restore HDD
2) Format/Prepare HDD
3) Install MS Dash 5960
4) Install Hacked Dashboards
5) Install Softmod
Am I correct about these?
I know that I have to go through "Install Dashboards (Softmod)"; since I softmoded my xbox. But the options in there are "Install - Drive Dashboards and Install - Drive Dashboard (DHCP)"; what is the difference between the two? And which one of these options do I choose? And I would assume that this dashboard will be installed with every mod-ed files which would be in drive E, correct?
Total n00b at this...pls forgive these noob questions

AID is used to install dashboards, apps, emulators or whatever you want..
The softmod you have install only has install the unleashX dashboard and the softmod..
You could install XBOX MEDIA CENTER as your startup dashboard or even just install it as a application to your F:\ drive..
If you have already softmodded your xbox then AID would only be good to install things..
Make sure you only choose to install dashjboards from the SOFTMODS section.

DHCP and STATIC are different types of network setups.. STATIC means you will need to set your xbox with a unique dedicated ip address for your home network.
DHCP means if you connect your xbox to a router it should automatically pick up a ip address..

Keep E drive free unless you only have a standard hdd still.
Try to use F: drive more..
Thanks for the reply hobbs! But just another quick question...yes I still have the hdd installed...will installing the XBMC dashboard on the same hdd screw up what I have now? Or will it just be installed to a different folder?

If you're installing XBMC where an original dashboard was (for argument's sake, UnleashX on E Drive which is the standard SID install) you should be able to FTP XBMC to that same location. Just make sure that you rename the XBMC's default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe so that the softmod picks it up.

I thought with SID 4.5 the docs say to only install non-softmod dashes to the E drive?

That's correct, when SID 4.5 is installed, install a non-softmod dashboard, due to the fact SID 4.5 is set up different than SID 3.0 / 3.1
