I wanna be sure that this guide will work with my xbox ver 1.0 (or 1.1) none of these guides clealry states which version the soft mod will work on and i need to be 100% sure it will work so i dont ruin my xbox

I suggest you use SID 4.x developed by members of this site. You'll get better and more complete support for it.
Click on the AIDeluxe link at the top of the page and download the most recent version of AID. It packaged with SID as well as manuals. The SID package has the softmod files for Mechassault, Splinter Cell, and 007 Agent Under Fire.
You will also need DVD Decrypter, WinRAR, and a iso extractor like C-xbox tool.
One you have AID downloaded you will find SID in the tools directory of AID. Use 4.4 Nknave edition.

There is one thing i dont understand so far about that guide , that is they are talking about updating ones Dashboard, mine dashboard is the old orginal one that was on my xbox

My confusion is ist good or bad to update the dashboard , should i do it by playing a movie/game or avoid it! ?
and will this Softmod Installer Deluxe v4.5 Nknave Edition work on my old version XBOX V1.0 (or 1.1) ?

If you want to have the dual boot option, you will have to update the dashboard. This can be done with Halo2 and other newer games that have Xbox Live play. (no harm at all to the xbox)

I just wanna softmod my xbox and then xchange my HD for a bigger one when done.

EDIT : I got the dahsboard updatet , i went to

i used time splitter future perfect .
I had no idea i had to press the troubelshooter in my xbox for it to update LOL well now i know .

I will be using a USB stick to transfer the files BUT i dont know how to transfer the files as the guide does not tell one to do it!
Can anyone tell me how to tranfer the files over to my usb stick which i have made into a Xbox memory card by using Xbox xscene gudie.
