well if you really want to see that your dvd drive is causing this then borrow another one and put it on the xbox and try it and see that it wont freeze...
face it dude the thompson drives laser sucks...
however i still conclude that if the the game is ran from the hd and freezes on you then 2 solutions are there
1) dvd2xbox as i stated bellow
2) after dvd2xbox didnt work try enigmah and no matter what these problems should go away...

XBOX 1.6c with newer Samsungs... and games work fine from DVD when XBOX is coldbooted.
They don't work from hdd and when evox is trying to run the game either from DVD or from hdd
I didn't patched the eeprom...

Just I did.. no effect. I tried PGR2 and Halo2..

LOL its your xbox because i burned halo 2 and pgr 2 with ease every since a while back say when dvd2xbox was .6.3 thast whhyyyy back like 2 yrs probly... pgr 2 its more then 5+gbs maybe 6 and halo 2 more then 4 -5 . im only saying this to prove to you that it works for me and it works on other xbox so its your xbox......
now you said you softmoded it with sid 4.5 dual = retail closed =evox or what else??? maybe re softmoding but downloading new exploits helps...

Softmode is single boot - no need of live or whatsoever..
But Gus, please keep in mind that if I put the same disks, power off the XBOX and then power them on - they work.
But if I try to run the DVD from evox menu.. it hangs..
BTW Conker is something even stranger... it reboots itself.. loads screen and then go back to first screen, again load screen, again go back to first screen. This in case I run it from Evox menu (Run DVD). If I coldbood - runs fine..
BTW all disks works fine on other softmoded XBOXes I have done.. I have more than 50 softmodded boxes on my account

yeah i understand coldboot helps but its sopose to work off hd . now do you want to get it fixed or not? lets try other methods ? download aid 3 as we need it and thats is your next step , unless you have xed or any aid disc around .....
we can try reinstalling same dashboard if that doesnt work we can try another diffrent dashbaord or then we can reinstall softmod with new downloaded files from aid 3......

I want to get it fixed
I have allready AID 3.0...
I have checked evox md5 sum and it is fine. I have tried to run games default.xbe from AID file manager, so I don't think it is dashboard issue (AID uses unleashedX, right)..
And this morning I reinstalled softmodd... may be I have to try 4.0??

hmm your in pal right? sid 4 was buggier for pal users and games since it has a eeprom patch that interfers with a game .
but again all these games you are trying to play are old so they shouldnt have problems at all!... uninstall the softmod correctly ( dont worry you wont loose anything) and reisntall it with new game save exploits
how? run aid 3 go to advance and install sid 4.5 into hdd .
then coldboot your exploitable game and re softmod it and this time try single boot closed=ux which is unleash x. then your apps should still be there ...... tell me what dvd2xbox version do you have?
but try that method i just suggested then you come back and tell me also what dvd2xbox ver it is . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
