Hey guys whats up, i just modded my box with softmod istaller deluxe 2.0 and i folowed all the instructions on techfreakv2 website, i have a v1.0 box and i used the splinter cell exploit and followed step by step and i want to upgrade from the stock hard drive but i cant find the eeprom, theinstructioins said there should be a file called eeprom.bin on the e:\backup\ mod folder and i checked the whole thing a bunch of times andfound nothing..can ne1 help???

well if it isnt there thats fine we can mod with a newer mod get your real eeprom.bin and make hd .... you need aid 3 did you check under all of E ? one file by another one ? sid 2 is kinda outdated. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Yea i searched every foler i could find..so yur sayin i can install the aid 3 mod right over my current mod? ive searched everywhere in the xbox and on the net that i could find looking for a way to read the eeprom before i posted nething for help, but i had no luck.

yeah do this . run aid 3 then go to advance then choose sid 4.5 and install it to hd then back out and choose install ms dash 5960 .... as default dash of course then once its like parimary dash just take out aid and remod and once modded with sid 4.5 ill tell you the rest. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Im having some troubles booting the aid3 cd, i put it on a cdrw, im gonna try a dvd, but i have to wait a little bit because i dont have any blank dvds right now...this is kinda off subject but i just thought of it, i am able to install a different/upgraded dvd-rom right? i thought i had seen someone saying that they did it a long time ago on some website. Will the aid 3 installer work if i transfer it to the box? or would it be better/safer to just burn to dvd? (BTW thank you for the help )
ok, i got it to boot splinter cell and im at the i guess sid4 menu, and it gives me options like: backup/restore features, install softmod, high definitions patch, uninstall softmod, sid4 settings..im stuck, but im gona play with it a little....

just hit install softmod and follow the directions from there.
After you get everything working, the easiest things to do is to run Config Magic and tell it to back up your EEPROM. That would have been the easiest thing to do instead of worrying about installing SID 4.5. _________________ XCM Halo 2 blue case

Im definatly stuck now...somehow it restored the box to its original state and i cant do anything, it wont let me install the softmod, but i can boot with the splinter cell exploit, but it brings me back to that same menu..

i would grab SID 3.1 if I were you. That is my favorite softmod option if you don't use XB LIVE. It doesnt have any 'virtual' drives or anything, its all pretty straight forward.
Give that a try if you can and let us know how it goes.
If all else fails, I would beable to ship your xbox in and get it running like you want it. Im an admin/moderator here and very well known and trusted. There are many people on this site that can vouch for me.
Lets just see what we can get done on your end first, then we can worry about shipping it out
Just try the SID 3.1 (or SID 3) as its labeled in the download section and report back here..

ok i got it back to the original softmod installation menu that i used from the start, i deleted the linux installer and the splinter cell profile, and now it looks like it wasnt modded at all, but my e:\ drive still has a backup on it, im going to stay at this menu and not do anything just yet..i am useing the softmod installer deluxe 2.0..i dont want to go any further until i get a reply just to make sure that im doing this right..
ALRIGHT! I FIXED IT! and i got the eeprom, thanks alot for everyones help

hey man srry i guess i didnt turned on pc soon enough before you started to have problems but im glad you fianly fixed it .... but srry to say that that eeprom you got is most likely fake... and if you make the hd you will end up with error 06 ... let me guess you got your eeprom.bin from the path E/eeprom thats the fake eeprom now the real eeprom.bin is in E/udata/214554 sometin/ 00000000000000/backup/eeprom.bin

yea i dunno how i did either...but they are pretty simple..annd i succefully installed a 40gb harddrive. once again tho, thanks alot for the help
