OK, I have just bought a wireless network adapter for my xbox. It comes with an install CD. To get a working backup of this disc do I have to rip it with my XBOX, and then FTP to my computer (like backing up a game)? Or can I just copy it on my computer (like a regular data disc)? _________________ Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

if its a cd/dvd that is for your xbox, you will have to back it up like a game.
if it is a cd/dvd that works when you put it in your computer, you could back it up on there..
if it works on both computer and xbox, i would back it up on the xbox as the xbox files may not show up when you put it in your computer and if you use dvd2xbox it will save all the data from that disk to the xbox hard drive and it will be all intact that way.
let me ask though, why are you wanting to back it up? i may have confused you more if i understood you wrong, so im just woundering

It is piracy if you give it to others and you still own it
But for now, im just going to assume this is a driver disc, which is fine (as far as I know) to back up and share.

No need to assume! I will tell you! It is a driver disc. It is the install disc for the wireless adapter. But you can only activate it the MS Dash.
