Im really new at this stuff, I know theres a variety of premodded xbox systems. I would like to know what the best one would be for playing my back up games. Also I wanna know what the best dvd burner to make back ups would be. Thank you.

Also if all of them are equally good at playing back up games what would be the best choice premodded system for graphics, speed, hard drive space.

If you could give me a Point of Contact AIM sn that would be really good. Thanks.

I can hook you up with a premod. Just give me your specs you need and I can give you custom pricing.

You will also have over 7000 games already on your HD by the time I am done with it. Nobody really offers anything like that.

Even if you decide to go elsewhere, let me know and I can give you some solid info. A lot of premods come with a chip, but the chip isn't flashed an there isn't a hacked dashboard on. Without having your chip flashed you can't run unassigned code which in turn means no backing up to HD.

I would suggest a Xenium or SmartXX chip. I have only been installing Xeniums because I have had such good results from them. I have been hearing more and more nice things about the SmartXX chip so in the future I will probably be offering those as well, but in all honesty for the money the Xenium Ice is the way to go. It has a killer OS and like the SmartXX is a fourth Gen chip that is easily flashed right from the DVD Drive! No programmer or cable needed!

As far as HD sizes, whatever you feel is ample for you. 250GB gives you a ton of space. I only run with 120GB in my mod, but everyone is different. Several months ago when I got mine 160GB was the biggest most people were using.

As far as them being equally fast in playing games what you have to understand is all xbox games are designed with the current specs in mind. So, to me it's superfluous to put in extra RAM when the game is designed for what it currently has.

I play xbox games, N64 games, NES, Atari, and real coin operated arcade games (mameOX EMU/ROMS) and I never have an issue with the standard RAM that comes with the machine.

If you are interested, I can give you references too. Here is a post that some of the members here that purchased mods from me responded too: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/postt1614.html

I can also do case modding if you want your machine dressed up nicely. Just email me at realmccloy@xbox-hq.com or sales@themodgod.com and I'll be more than happy to quote you a price. You won't find a machine that has what I offer for a lower price, that is for sure!! I only do this to help the members and make a few extra bucks on the side. I do not mark up my hardware at all!! I only charge a little labor for my time involved.

Good luck in whatever you decide on. If you need any info about modding please don't hesitate to post. We are here to help!!

later man!!

Sorry, I forgot to address one of your questions. As far as DVD Burners go, they are all good. However, you may want to invest in a DVD9 Dual Layer (DL) DVD Burner.

Here's the difference:
Typical DVD Burners use what is called DVD5 blank media. These are the typical DVD-R/+R/RW's that you see. They store 4.7GB of data, 4 hours of MPEG 1 Video, or 2 Hours of MPEG 2 video.

The problem there is, most DVD's that you want to back up will not fit on one DVD5 Disk. So, you end up having to strip out special features, audio choices, menus, and then even compressing the video a little (or burn it to two DVD's if your software gives you that option). Also, some xbox games are larger than 4.7GB so backing them up to HD is no problem, but to a single DVDR is!

DVD9 media disks will hold 8.5GB of data, 8 hours of MPEG 1, or 4 hours of MPEG 2!! Pretty much all the DVD movies that you rent or buy are already on DVD9 media. Also, a lot of xbox games are already on this media too so your xbox has no difficulty with a multi layer disk.

Right now, CompUSA has a sale on an External DVD DL Burner. It's only $99.00 after 20.00 instant and 30.00 mail in rebate. You can't go wrong there!! Plus, you don't have to rip your PC apart. It's a USB Connection!

Good luck, catch you later

Real McCloy,

Me and my friend are very interested in purchasing a premod xbox
system. I was wondering how much would it cost to have it to wear it can play all backup games, and region free if its possible. I also would like to
know the price increments on the different size hard drives available. In
regards to the huge hard drive that is available i just want to make
sure, is it possible to copy a "xbox" game to the hard-drive and not have to use the disc. I was also wondering how easy it is to back-up games, and if there were different backup procedures for each game produced, like required patches. I dont know what other features are applicable to getting a hooked up xbox system, can you tell me what your capabilities are to making the xbox and give a price for each feature. Also my friend would like to know what type of ROMS you put on the xbox harddrive (gba, n64, gen, nes, snes, neogeo, arcade..?) Thank you so much.
