Hello. I have a sad tale.('')
Four days with an Xbox 1.0 and the screen shows error#7, with a clicking sound coming from the machine. Then I discover I don't have the recommended backup.
I wanted to modify the console anyways, so I got an 80 gig drive and an Xenium Gold modchip. The installation went fine, and now I have an unpartitionned hard drive that ...when I boot the Xbox to 'Retail', it gives me error #16. My attempts at using Auto-Installer 3 and Slayers on DVD-R and DVD-RW have failed as they don't seem to get recognized(?). I've also networked to my computer but the ftp client just can't engage the drive in the Xbox. So, is the 'hotswap' process the only alternative at this point?
Actually, I'm finding I like challenges like this...so, it's not that sad.
Thanks ahead for any interest there may be in adding to my little story.

Can you partition the drive from the xenium OS? I think you can prepare a new harddrive with the gold's OS menu. You will need to:
1. prep the harddrive. (see above)
2. FTP to the hdd and add your bios to the 'C:\bios' folder. (Create one)
3. Then add new item to your launch menu (bios)
4. Then, you can use AID to install dashbards etc.
There's tons of info on all the above in the tutorial section. Enjoy. _________________
