I successfully soft mod'd a 1.6 Xbox with AID 3.0. I managed to squeeze a game onto the retail HD. Everything was working sweetly.
I upgraded the HD with a Hitatchi Deskstar 80 gig drive from an old pc, Installed fine, xbox regonized it, all was good. I FTP'd files onto it, including NHL 2K6, the game that was working on my retail drive.
Now it locks at the 2k6 screen and Halo 2 locks at the start screen.
I can still load splinter cell and run linux and access the unleshx dash and the softmod dash.
Is there something I am missing software wize to make my xbox load these games, which still work on my retail HD.

I followed the directions DJB used in the sticky softmod section on installing softmods step by step. I still get games locking up if they are newer, but older titles boot up fine

I thought I would try FTPing all the files on C to my pc off my retail drive and FTPing them back on to my new drive since the retail works and the new drive is not booting games. That seems to be a dead end, as yet again only older titles are loading and new ones freeze.

ok theirs soo many fixes for this....
1( since you owen these games you can grab aid 3 and put dvd2xbox as an app then try clearing the contents of e/cache and x y z then run dvd2xbox pop games in let them burn once burned 2 hd look at the game list from dvd2xbox then it should load up fine .......
so usualy e/cache fixes this issue .... if not then patching the game or last hope enighman ntsc to pal vide switcher....

That did it, all that work and it was just the cache. Thanks, I softmoded using AID 3.0, using the unleashx dash

OOps spoke too soon, now the NHL 2K6 game loaded on my HD locks, usuailly durning the game after I score, with the audio looping. Clearing the cache seems to have solved the Halo 2 dvd locking up, although I haven't had time to extensively test beyond loading the disc. Got my hockey fix out of my NHL 2K5 dvd. Strange to me though, I played the crap out of my FTP'd NHL 2K6 on my retail HD, and after ftp'ing it to my new upgrade, no joy

Grab your original game and put dvd2xbox and repeat what i said to do after you burn look on dvd2xbox game list and choose your game from their and it should load up fine . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Did you clear everything from the cache? Including any bins? Some folks miss those and leave stuff in. Make sure your cache is totally clear of all items, then give it another go. Tread lightly in the X,Y,Z drives, for these can be sensitive. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Usually you just need to clear the E/ Cache folder. _________________
