ok i'm running a softmodded EVOX +3935...i looked in my MS backup folder in E and found more files than i thought where suppose to be in there...i restored the MS backup from SID3 (tray open) and the xbox tried to connect to XBL it jus kept "XBL not ready" or watever can't really remember. these are the files and folders that are in my MS backup folder
evox.ini
evoxdash.xbe
xboxdash.xbe
settings_adoc.xip
XBox Book.xtf
Xbox.xtf
does anyone know wat are the only files that are suppose to be in there?
and why did my xbox try to connect to XBL when i restored my MS backup?
i had to restore my mod back up to get my evox dash back but i can't load my msdash....which isn't a big deal but i've never had been able to since my softmod. i was jus thinking that maybe if i restored my MS backup i would be able to redo my softmod with a diffrent version of SID
oh yeah my mod backup has these files in it...its also wats in my c drive at the moment.

Wrong, my friend. There are modded files in his backup... Below, you'll find an image of a proper C drive via FTP (I have a chip, my backup is stock).
Kaovue, I reccomend you use AID to delete your old backup and install a fresh one to the backup location. If need be, softmod with SID 3 once more, use AID to install MSDash5960, it will wipe your C and install it. Then take out AID and softmod accordingly (or you can just copy the M$ files, then install the softmod using AID) . Hope that helps.
But I have some bad news, my friend. If you're getting the "Xbox Live Not Available" error, you're probably banned for trying to hop on with a hacked C drive... Sorry, m8. But there are ways to replace your EEPROM chip, just search the tuts and forums sections.

ok AngelosDracul heres the deal. as u already know my xbox is softmodded...when i used the AID disc i believe i installed the evox dash ment for chipped xboxes...i've read around and came to that conculusion because in my evox.ini line #8 reads
MSDashBoard = "C:\msdash.xbe"
and i do not have a msdash.xbe in my c:/ drive instead i have "xboxdash.xbe" which is why i can't select "MS Dash" form my EVOX menu..i've tried to rename the xboxdash.xbe to msdash.xbe and i was able to select the msdash from evox but it jus froze at the loading screen.
since i didn't install the msdash 5960 the first time i modded is it safe to reinstall the dashboards from the "softmod section" on the AID disc since my xbox is already softmodded and will it fix my msdash loading problem? because it says that it will format the c:/ drive and install the softmod and ms dashboard 5960. i just don't want to mess up my dash agian...its a real pain getting things back to norm..if u know wat i mean. oh and in the softmod section there are three options which one am i suppose to choose. the three options are....
could you tell me whats the diffrence between them and where do i install them to?
and if possible could you give a step by step tut. so i'll have some guide lines to go by as in which option to choose, where to put it etc...i'd really be greatfull if you would. thanks!
about XBL i do not use my modded xbox on live i have a factory xbox for that i don't care to much about cheating on XBL its pointless i think
wat if i just delete the modded files off my ms backup to where i have what u have and used the SID to restore my msdash from e:/backups would that restore my factory dash or no? jus a thought

i would say properly uninstall the softmod.... simple
use the aid3 to uninstall all softmods .... then put ms dash as a dashboard...
so basicly ur wiping out all moded info and putting retail ms dash to load up so u dont end up with an error code
why not just install sid 4 or 4.5 and put dual boo= retail to play xbox live ? u never get ban this way ..........
or just re start fresh .... pretty much wipe out everything their that is modded dash and put new files.....
btw nkpatcher is better then pbl... pbl= phenoix bios loader... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

I think there's only an uninstall option on that disk for 4.5. Not sure if it will work on others

umm damn its cuz i cant rember how aid 3 looks like.... do ou have xed ? if not then u can put ms dash in 2 ways.....
one u can replace all ur mods with ms dash by just choosing to install ms dash
2) u can put ms dash on its perspective folder for ex. e/backup/ms or which ever one applies to you....
if u do 2nd option then u should be able to restore xbox back to defaults... its just 2nd options is how u normaly do it to uninstall
but both will fix this..... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

no i installed the msdash 5690 from the AID disc (not from the softmod section of the disc) and got an error screen with no error code but before i turned off my xbox i FTP'ed it and the files that were in my c:/ where the same as the ones in my e:/backup/ms folder. i got the error after i turned off the xbox and turned it back on...i had to use the SC game exploit to recover my MOD backup into my c:/ drive to get it back to norm....but anyways...i guess the real question here is...
if i where to install the NKpatcher + msdash from the softmod section of the AID disc to my xbox and have it format and install everything back to my c:/ will i run into anymore problems or error codes?
ps i'm also using SID3

The softmod options are availble from the ADDON packs in the AID download package. Use the addons, then go to advanced options, I believe. I want this to be as simple as possible for ya. If you don't have XED right now, you probably won't get it. THe main hoster is having some personal problems, and will be gone for a while.
Once you have AID, tell it to properly unmount Virtual C (if you're using SID 4, if not, ignore these steps), but don't reboot when it asks you to.
Next, you're going to go back, and install the softmod of your choice. If you're using SID 4, then you don't have to worry about patching, because it does all that work right there at the menu. It's nice.
If you go with SID 3.11, then you'll have to go back to the softmod menu and tell it to patch the MSDash. Once that's done, you'll be good. But I noticed an error with most of the .ini or .xml config files for UnleashX and Evox. As you stated, Evox was telling line 8 to look for msdash.xbe. This, of course, is incorrect, because that's the patched xbe name. Just change the .ini to look for xboxdash.xbe and your "launch MSDash" should work just fine. Same goes for .xml's of Unleash X _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

did u try just putting ms backup to e/backup or e/backup/ms ? and try restore ur mod from their?
that 's 1 option
did u also try just installing ms dash as a default dash? like choose INSTALL MS DASH and it should wipe out mod......
and 3rd would be .... go to advance settings or somtin like that . then put sid 4.5 to ur hd then install ms dash as default dash and once u power on it shouldnt have any mod..... and u have retail dash and re mod from their
i know this is similir to 2nd option but i thought incase u didnt have the mem card anymore... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
