Hi,

Does any one know of a way to connect the XBox directly to the home theatre system so I can get my movies to play in 5.1 surround sound?

Are there any adapters out tthere I can buy?

There are a couple of different options for digitial sounds:

If you have optical ports that you can use, you can use the advanced A/V pack, which has composite, s-video, and optical out. There is a tutorial hanging around somewhere on how to add a digital coax(spdif) output to this.

The HD pack also has an optical output.

You can also install both outputs directly into the box, again there are tutorials hanging around. Try checking the A/V forum for more info: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/forum72.html

When I get a little more time I'm gonna try to put spdif, headphone jack, and VGA connectors in for portability. Between those, all of the games in the HDD, and 17" VGA screens everywhere I want to play, I'll be set! Cool
