I installed Unleased X on my modded xbox. I used the mechassault softmod. Everything was working great so i installed a new 80 gb hard drive. Then I updated my dash to Xbox media Center. I had moved all the XBMC files to C:\Dashboard\. Everything was working fine and XBMC booted up first. Then i wanted to go back to my unleased x for some reason. I though I could just move default.xbe out of C:\Dashboard\ and it would boot up to unleased x but it didn't work and now when my xbox comes on nothing but the contact customer support screen comes on. I can still boot games but it won't boot a dashboard i really want XBMC back. Can some one tell me how to fix this. My new hard drive is locked by the way.

well the only way to get it back is if you still have the softmod exploit(mechassault) in yiur saves. If you do, just use mech. and just go back to the softmod menu, and move the default.xbe back in with the XBMC and change unleash x back to its normal .xbe. Then in your file manager, just click the xbmc default.xbe and it should boot up xbmc. U just need to put it back as the default xbe. And if you want, just put unleashx as an app, and itll boot as an app, and you can go backto it at anytime. _________________ Moddingbandit

Oh man i deleted the save exploit from my hard drive and memory card. I don't have action replay anymore either. Is there any program i can burn to a disk to file browse my hard drive so i can move the file back?

well idk if this will work but you can load gamesaves from your mem. card so maybe you could try putting the linux installer 4.5 and 007 AUF on one mem card and try to boot it up. But if you still had the linux on your xbox then all you'd need is your gamesave. If you have 007 try that, if it doesnt work then you need to get a chip or hotswap which is a pain in the ass. I could install the chip for you if you lived close to me( providing the softmod thing doesnt work - solderless only). But lets hope you can still do it. _________________ Moddingbandit

All i really need to do if find a a way to move C:\Dashboard\hide dash\default.xbe back to C:\Dashboard\.
Can install my hard drive back in my computer to move this file? What software do I need to be able to see the files? Will having a locked hard drive affect this? Can I get pass the lock without disturbing anymore files? thanks

well you are going to do a hotswap then. Only way to rearrange anything. Go to members or staff and look for pirrup and he has the tut. and the msdash both you need for hotswapping. _________________ Moddingbandit

yea man thats what sucks when ppl remove un neceray space of useful items!!!..... tell me how can u do anytin if it doesnt load a dashboard? how can u transfer files? u cant.... i have the 007 auf game and it can load from mem card....

Well i fixed it with my xboxhdm. had to wipe the drive and restore. pretty easy too. hot swapping was a little tricky but owell.
