ok i put in mechassault and went to restore dash restarted xbox and bam no dash just stuck at microsoft i dont know what to to i have tried doing slayers installer onto a dvd at 4x but didnt load in my phillips dvd drive plz tell me what to do thanks yall l8er!!!!

O.O Slayer's? That's so outdated, d00d. Go get AIDeluxe . Not only is Slayer's EXTREMELY outdated... It's outdated! Second, if you restored your MS Dash, and it was a bad backup, it won't boot. You need to boot with the game you softmodded with, and RESOFTMOD. You could try popping in a live game (Halo2, Outlaw Volleyball, etc...) and try signing into Live to have it update the dash, but that probably won't work.
So, if you chose to resoftmod, get the softmod done, then pop in AIDeluxe 3.0. Once it boots, choose "Install MS Dash". It will wipe C drive and install the MSDashboard, thus, Giving you a stock xbox. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

ye but it wont load DVD-R it stuck at Microsoft i have NOOO dashbored and i cant reinstall my softmod the fil is missed up so its like if i put in a DVD-R it stays at the microsoft screen do u think burning AID Delux or anything ontpo a CD-RW will work ???

If you have no way to boot a game, then you've got 2 options that I know of: chip or hotswap. I had a HDD that the partitions were totally corrupt, so the hot swapped worked great for me. There is a tutorial on this site on how to hot swap

ok i was in hot swapping then my computer IDE cable didnt fit the XBOXES HD and it booted up error 12 ??? any solutions

hi mate,
Do a search for the official HOTSWAP topic.. You will find it very simple.. It has many replies and you can read over it to make sure you are NOT missing anything.
Make a reply on that topic and pirrup will reply with info to help you as soon as he can.. Other members may also reply too as they are watching that topic.
I havent performed a hotswap myself yet but ive heard of 1000's of members recovering their softmodded xboxes this way.

Just did a hotswap the other day... Actually, booted the xbox with an unlocked Seagate Xbox HDD in it, got the error, locked the drive, and everything went gravy... It was weird, you'd figure that it wouldn't lock the drive... but it did. Had a brand new stock Xbox just waiting for everything to be run. u think my box will boot a DVD-R with burned at 1x
it says Xbox-Evox Boot CD- No Modchip Needed - Working.iso
if i burn that onto a DVD-R at 1 will it boot it

You can try it and it might work but probably not. Since you were getting error 12, just plug the dvd rom cables back in and do the quick swap. _________________ XBOX V1.4

ok heres the thing when i went to hotswap i get Error 12 when i unplug dvd-rom IDE then my PC IDE cables wont fit into back of xboxes HD so i need NEW ide cabels.....intell then i wanna try this when im done downloading it hopefully it will boot the disk !!
