First of all, thank all of you for the great work you've been doing on this package. It seems pretty straightforward and nice to first-time users such as myself.
Still I have a small question.
Since I have an xbox 1.1 with philips DVD drive and don't have MS Dash 5960, I'm a bit puzzled by the guide for Nknave 4.5 that I found in the AID 3.0 package.
It states there:
Quote:
To make your job easier the Softmod Installer, it is recommended that you use the latest
version of Xbox Dashboard which is available (1.00.5960.01).
What exactly are the consequences of not having dashboard 5960, as it isn't clearly mentioned in the manual? (or am I overseeing things?) Do I need to be mindful of something special when installing this softmod on a pre-"MS Dash 5960" box? Thank you for your insights into this!

You need to have 5960 if you want to continue using the MS dash at all (including Dual Boot, live/mod). It's very easy to do this, softmod with a single boot, pop in AID3, choose to install MSDash5960, reboot, resoftmod with a gold backup of 5960.
If you're not concerned about going on live, or using your MS dash (I rarely use mine seeing as how I do not go on live) then just go ahead and rock it without the newest version. You just won't be able to Run your standard MSDash. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

all xboxes that go on xbox live will get auto updated with this dash, some live enabled games like halo 2 will install this dash from disc, and all xboxes version 1.6 come with this dash.
there are no consequences really, except the fact, that if you want to install the Ndure exploit to go on xbox live after the softmod is installed, than you'll need ms dash 5960, so when you go on live!, you are detected to have the latest dash, and you aren't affected by an autoupdate that can ruin your retail boot (will not affect mod boot).
this is why. _________________ Xbox v1.1

So if I interpret this correctly, I can update to the latest dash with the AID 3.0, without the need to go buy a game which has the built in update? Also I read in your signature that you have flashed your TSOP with evox dashboard? So it is possible to remove the MS TSOP and replace it with others? Can this be done with the AID 3.0? What advantages does this offer?
