DO YOU USE XBOX LIVE?
Sounds like XOBX live has updated your DASHBOARD or a XBOXLIVE GAME has and it didnt do it properly.
I would personally try grabbing a XBOX LIVE GAME and booting it..
* YOUR XBOX WILL STILL WORK BECAUSE IT BOOTS DVDROM FIRST!
Then try to update your dashboard using the XBOX LIVE section.. It should update automatically and be fine..

Well @*$%, no luck. I loaded Full Spectrum Warrior (or tried to) and nothing. All I get is the error 16 and red to green blinking LED

I thought error 16 also could be from clock not set? Just a guess anyway.

Well, thanks for trying. I was just playing a game, not LIVE, and while loading into the next stage it flashed up 16 in the left corner with the message "your Xbox requires service, please call customer service". It's $79 USD to send it in for repair, but no promise on when it will be returned! If any ideas come to mind please let me know, thanks again. _________________ Staying sane by playing the game!

Hi Dman,
Dont pay $79 dollars just to get your ORIGINAL XBOX BACK!
I would suggest this:
- Buy a modchip
- Get it fitted and flashed with a bios
- Download the XBOXHQ AUTO INSTALLER
- Format/Partition and copy the M$ Dashboard files you are having problems with NOW using the autoinstaller. Once its finished copying you error will be gone..
OUR XBOX-HQ AUTO INSTALLER allows any xbox with a modchip to be REBUILT.. This means you dont need to send it to MICROSOFT to get fixed..
also.. A modchip will cost you around the same to buy and that includes fitting.. Buy a modchip.. It will blow you away and you xbox will have many more features like.
Play MP3, WMV, WMA, DIVX, XVID etc etc
Play VCD, SVCD, DVD + Stream Movies from yoru PC HDD to your XBOX
Play Emulators like PSX, SNES, N64 and much more..
anyway, hope you get it sorted mate.. Dont like to hear of anyone having probs with their xbox..

You cant set the M$ Dashboard clock if hes getting a error on boot mate..
