My V 1.6 is giving me fitz! When I use it retail(M$Dash and STD hdd, [no mods]) it won't always read the dvd and will sometimes boot to M$ Dash, sometimes gives me error 13! IF I get it into a game(Halo) it tends to freeze after a while(30min?) of gameplay or at certain places in the game.
When Soft-modding (STD or Upgraded HDD) with SID4(Nknave) and Splinter Cell, it will freeze mostly during the inital game loading screen or in the S.C GameSave menu(Unless I am both lucky and REALLY fast![<1 second]). It will freeze every time I try to do the initial backups in SID4!(It won't even load the B.U. utility.)
I have replaced the IDE cable, cleaned the DVD Laser and formatted the HDD's several times I'm thinking that it may be a bad IDE controller or a bad RAM chip.. Does anyone have any other ideas about this problem?(besides a hammer or other destrustive device!) _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Yup, I agree that you need to try clearing the cache on the E drive first.
Clear everything, bins too. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Thanks, but I've built a new HDD from scratch with M$Dash and HDM 1.9 as well as with AID 2.11 final (format retail HDD). So, there wasn't anything in the cache drives. The board isn't particularly dirty either,BUT I'll give that a try anyways.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
(Please DO ask the "You can't be serious!" questions too. In my experiance it's usually something stupid!) _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
