Okay, so here is the story. About a year or so ago i bought myself a modded xbox, but until now i haven't really tried to go into detail with using it. (I've only just learnt how to ftp to it - shocking) The machine still has the original 10gb HDD in it, and has a Xecuter2 processor.

Anyway, i've found that a few of the programs that i've got are starting to play up, the Xbox Dash won't boot anymore and Avalaunch crashes every time i launch it. I was wondering if it would be worth downloading the AID Installer software and starting again from scratch. If i was to do that, what would the first step be? Once i'm on the right track i could figure the rest out with the other tutorials, i'm just not sure what will happen if i try to run AID over the current setup? Help! I don't really want to break the Xbox by just plowing ahead without some idea of what i should be doing.

Thanks to anyone who can assist. I know this is a little vague, but i'm just at a loss where to start.[/b]

Hi, and welcome to HQ Smile
Ok, well with the chip, you can just run AID, format all drives/partitions (e.g. C, E, F, etc.).
Then install MS dash 5960, and then re-install your dash of choice to its current location, and re-install all your apps, as they are likely to be more up to date.

If you need more help, get back to me here, or PM me.

Cheers,
Roo Very Happy

Hey again

I have got so far as to put the ISO on to a DVD, but when i put it into the Xbox, the drive won't read it. The EvoX dash says that there is no disc, but i tested the disc in DVD2Xbox and i did manage to get it to read the disc. I didn't burn it to the HDD, but instead exited back to Evox and it tried to read the disc again. Instead of telling me that there was no disc, it said 'Game' in the corner and tried to run it, but failed. The last thing that Evox says is 'Unknown.' I have tried a few ways to run the disc, through XB Media Player and Avalaunch (which subsequently crashed)

I don't know whether i messed up the burning, which was done at single speed, or if my disc drive is just crap. Any ideas? Thanks.
