Post subject: Xbox Live Blocking
Reply with quote

Hello,
I would like to block access to xbox live on my network. I have kids that I don't want on at certain times. I also have a few modded boxes that I don't want them to get banned if they accidently connect to XBL. I can block this at my firewall but does anyone know the URL's or IP's I should block for this.

Thanks!

Just set up your router to block all traffic for all your xboxes ip addresses.

Well... what I'm trying to do is block during certain times (which is possible w/ my router). But i also have some modded xboxes that have XMBC on it that I still need to give access to the internet so I can use streamcast, get weather, etc. So therefore I want to have a URL's or IP's that I can block so they (read I) don't accidently ban them.

Thanks!

I took a look at my modded xbox and all my dashes uses differnt ips for each and my MS dash uses a differnt DNS from my dashes as well so you might be able to use xmbc and still block xbox live.

if they are chipped, make sure the bios flashed in them blocks xbox live, if they are softmodded, most modern softmods will block xbox live natively.

So the only way to know, if the xboxes are safe and blocked from xbox live is by you telling us what kind of mods do they have.

Thank you for the reply... I'm only concerned about two boxes. 1 is softmoded with the SID 4.0 installer. The other has a Xenium SP ICE with the XOS2 Operating System 2.3. I'm sorry, but I'm new to this so I'm still working my way thorugh it. Please excuse the newbie q's. So are these two mod's compatible with xbox Live?

Thanks again!

Block these ports from transmitting data and you have all that you need to block live:

* TCP: 3074
* UDP: 88
* UCP: 3074

I'm sure one of those is the login port, then the other is just the data port, I'd block both of those and you should be good to go.

Ok with SID 4 you can go on live but you must have an account with XBL before you softmodded with SID4 and you have to use the Dual boot = retail
