I had used softmod installer deluxe to softmod my xbox a couple of months ago. i installed evox and everything was going well. this morning i decide i want to patch my ms 5960, but it gives me an error.
so, i decide that im going to delete my old sotmod installer and put on a new one. so i put the new one on my pro action replay.
i delete the old one.
i restart the xbox with splinter cell in the tray.
i go to do the whole process over.
error 21.
if i boot without a game in and the drive open
error 21
if i boot without a game and the drive closed
error 21
it will boot up games fine so long as it doesnt have to go to the dash.
am i f-ed?
i hope not, but with my luck, i am.

i put int he cdrw of it that i had burned with nero, but i dont know if i bunrned it right. even when i had evox as my dash, it wouldnt load. it just said unknown on the dash where it said what was in the drive.

i keep getting an error when it gets to about 99%.
im trying nero now, and i dunno how it will turn out.
regardless, i tried updating with the 1 gb dummy file before and burning via dvd decrypter 3.5.4.0

i burned it to a dvd+r with nero at 2.4x speed and then i tried it in the xbox.
It DIDNT work.
looks like its time to buy a new xbox.
any more suggestions/ideas?

why go the desperate way of buygin new xbox???
Look at Pirrups Hotswap tutorial and MS Dash files, and do it.

yeah, i do, i mean, i dont have a comp sci degree, but i buily my own comp basically, so hope this works.

I was trying to use the patch ms 5960 and when I tried to do that my xbox started messing up.At first I used to be able have the tray open for my evox to work but now its just trying to do a live update and thats it.And now I cant play any games at all.I get an error saying that my xbox needs to be serviced....I need help..Did I just kill my xbox????

Whats the Error code you get on the screen? Any why were you trying to do a live update on a modded xbox, you might have to do a hotswap now. _________________

I get an error that says that my xbox to be serviced and ther eis no error.I was not even trying to get onto xbox live either.
