high all im new and very wet behind the ears got my xbox working with axecuter 2.6 installed all fine so far with the right screen ive downloaded loads of stuff but first need to put the x2 5035 bios on with dummy only thing is it came downloaded in compressed form ive tried to open with stuffit, winrar and winzip but none seem to work once i can do this all will be fine i hope or maybe i can burn them as they are. can anyone help ive been trying for a while now.thanks.

You must have it unzipped, and fixed to your liking and size of flash.
Examples:
256k bios
512k bios
1mb bios (not used on chips much)
and make sure you make a cd-rw with a dummy file that's named "DUMMY.BIN" and the bios of your choiced named "BIOS.BIN", and then you may flash.
Also make sure that you set your proper lb48 patch, IGR and other stuff that you might need. _________________ Xbox v1.1

thanksfor the reply but have tried and tried to unzip but keep getting engine error unknown format im getting fed up think i might take it out if i cant go any further thanks again.

Are you using the latest version of Winrar?All of the bios that you can download here at XBHQ unzip no problem with Winrar.If you're getting the bios somewhere else than XBHQ check the MD5 hash to make sure it's the real deal.Once you get your bios unpacked use Evtool or Xbtool to configure the bios to your liking. _________________ Xbox V 1.0

[ive downloaded the files from VIP section opened with winrar cansee see the file but says stuffit encoded when i click to open with winrar it converts it into a stuffit compressed form in the folder i chose but then when ineed to open it with stuffit i get that same old error, "unknown format" what am i doing wrong any body. im going mental!!!!!!!! i need sleep its 1.30am over here yawn...

looks like you have .bin files associated with winrar ,
so the unzipped bios.bin will still have an icon of a zipped file but its not ,thats why winrar or whatever can not unzip it anymore,
right click the file and go to properties ,"type of file" should say "BIN IMAGE" or ".BIN" _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

thanks for the reply mate but after its been downloaded its in stuffit compressed then when winrar opens it the file has two stuffit encoded files one v.old and the other v16plus also 2 text docs 1 config set and a folder saying use the x2 config file in this release but once its in the encoded form its then that i cant open, with it saying error format.

Just a thought.Open winrar go to options then settings them intergration tab check under Associate WinRAR with and use select all.Hope that helps.A more drastic solution -uninstall stuffit. _________________ Xbox V 1.0

well im back and in trouble again i managed to make a bios disk and using the x2 5035 bios at 1MB plus 130mb dummy file. The chip recognised the disk through bank 1 and turned itself off but when i turned it back on all i got was a blank screen and flashing red eject switch, tried to turn on through other bank but got the samething, is the chip f.....ed or can i get back the orig bios back somehow please help im at my wits end...
