Hi....sorry for sounding like a total noob but I have a few queries about AID etc.
1. I downloaded AID 2.11 and went to unrar the iso only to be presented with lots of .rar files. Which do I unzip or do I have a corrupt download as winrar tells me when I try to unzip any of them ?
2. Is AID as simple as it sounds ? I have a dying day 1 PAL xbox which has a Thompson drive which is dying. I have obtained a newer Xbox with a Samsung drive which I intend to soft mod using SID 4.0 Mechassualt hack (AUF doesn't appear to work on this Xbox). I take it once soft modded it really is as simple as it sounds from reading the .pdf files ? ie run the AID disc and follow the softmod section ?
3. I don't have a DVD burner so am going to go Cd-rw route....any likely problems ?
Sorry again if this all sounds noob like but with 1 dying Xbox I can't afford to put another one to sleep by getting this seemingly simple process erm wrong.

ok mate first ur on the right track , 2nd use nknaves xed (xbox enhace disc) disc iso... better then aid if i say so myself.. and what ver were u using of 007 auf?? platinum ver dont work... non platnum r the best.. ma is so called the easiest to softrmod althou i used 007 very easy ... pop disc in load hacks and presto... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Hi and thanx for being gentle LOL.
Well my AUF is a non-classics version here in Europe and if I use my original hack to get FTP access it plain don't work. Service error appears
Got Knaves SID 4.0 for the hack this time and figured I would try something else hence MA. Besides I actually like that game too
I looked for Knaves XED with no luck on file sharing networks....far too much trash on there now, dodgy tool bars etc.
What I want to do is to mod the 'new' samsung drive powered Xbox is the simplest way possible....and was pointed towards AID which does seem to fit the bill. As stated before I can't afford to screw it up.....hence my questions
Anything I should keep my out for ? My original Xbox was soft modded with Evo X and I thnk I corrupted that somehow when I upgraded to 3935 is it ? Its works (well as best it can with a dying Thompson drive) but the mod won't allow certain games to work ie. Crimson Skies; they crash randomly at the Evo X screen that comes up when you press 'a' to launch DVD OR on an ingame loading screen.

what u mean the part of the hack of the ftp acces???
ok so ur in euro then try somtin some only SOME platnum work
but i try to stay away from there as much as possible....
sid4 = nknaves installer final... its the same thing but has difrrent looks and directrys... i have nknaves installer final and works great im gonna test sid4.. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Hi,
Ok will try and be nice and simple....
I have a launch day Xbox, Thompson Drive, Soft modded to Evo X previously using AUF save game hack. I upgraded the Evo X and I 'think' I corrupted it somehow....but no matter the Thompson drive is dying so I now how.....
Another xbox, Samsung drive, not modded at all yet (and the reason for my posts).
Ok now answers to your q's....
I mean't the AUF hack allowed me to get FTP access via FlashFXP so I could transfer whatever across from PC to Xbox. I think this is possibly where I killed the Evo X dashboard that was installed during the mod by my old friend. I just FTP'ed the new version of Evo X across....
Thanks for the link...will go take a peek now. Almost have AID dl'ed again now so fingers crossed. I only want a nice simple clean soft modded Xbox for Emu's and multi-region DVD.

ok so pm nkave he made that software...
so the thompson drive dieing is the normal wear n tear ... softmods dont do this....
so basicly we softmodin 1 xbox or 2?? use sid 4 or nknave installer ... those r the only 1's i suggest.. and if u havnt been on xb live then u can upgrade hdd n to to live w/out gettin caught or ban.. ask him 4 more info ... a'ri lates..
im runnin a 200gb hdd softmoded and been playin 4 a week and no ban...
it takes M$ to find out if u hack or mod in 6 hrs... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

We are soft modding Xbox number 2.....Xbox number 1 is for spares n repairs maybe on ebay LOL (sold a Saturn that way once....).
So I will take a look at AID assuming it DL's ok....if not I will PM Knave.

Not gonna happen for me it seems.

When using winrar to extract the iso it gets to fles 18 and 20 before flagging errors and is unable to finish the extraction.
Anyone got any ideas ?

Just a thought? are you tring 2 unrar the final ISO if so it will say error file faild it was ment to be burned as an iso on dvd or cdrw maybe i have no clue what ur talking about though u r very non descriptive when u explain something so if im no help sorry

No when I download AID from its 'official' torrent link I get a bunch of .rar files which I have to extract to creat the iso. The first download of this was seemingly corrupt and now winrar is reporting my second download as being corrupt too. So to sum up I don't have the iso to burn yet just the .rar files which 'should' combine to create it.
I could pay the $10 to get vip access here but what are the chances of that download also being corrupt.....
I don't get it. Something that sounded like such a simple process isbecoming a royal pain in the bum....

Hi.....
Thanks to all that replied to my post.....it seems I was barking up the wrong tree somewhat.
Thanks to the god that is now known as Nknave and his incredible SID and Pirrup <?> for his full replacement of the MS dash (allowing to me start from scratch) I have sorted and therefore modded the xbox to the extent I needed !!!!
Quiet what AID does I don't know LOL but I am where I need to be now....thanx !!!!
Oh and gus, sorry for addling your brain and thanx for your help too.
Leave u in peace now....consider this thread dead.

PS for the curious I did the following....
FTP'ed the SID gamesaves I needed to the Xbox using the broken 'evox mod' that was still in place.
I then FTP'd the full MS Dash across which Pirrup's sig pointed me to which gave me a blank slate to work with.
Rebooted and took a deep breath....its alive and back to factory settings ie. Ms dash and no mod.
Loaded Mechassault and then the hacked SID game save.
then followed the easy to follow instructions Nknave provided with SID.
Bye bye Evox and hello Unleash X !!!!
