Sounds dumb, I know, but my aid iso is larger than the cd-rw's I have. They are 650mb and the iso is well over. I tried browsing throught the threads but it seemed everyone just wanted to know what brand to buy. So... how am I supposed to fit this sucker on there? I have 3 xbox's I am modding/remodding. 2 of them are my friends both bought roughly the same time last year, in the Q4. Mine, is a first release bought in 2001. Now, I am sure their's can read cd-r cause they have samsungs, but I still have an original, somtimes I like to work, dvd rom. Oh yeah; I tried burning on a dvd-r cause my drive will read it, but Nero says something like, "Aid... must be written to a cd-rw." Shocked Weird is all I can think. Should I just try DvdDecrypter? Cause this sucks. A funny thing, I was trying to put a game on my hdd via ftp, but put it in a wrong folder on my f: So I went to delete it and accidentally deleted all my apps and some emu's. Rolling Eyes I canceled before it got too far. So I'm basically trying to get dvd2xbox back on mine first, and then mod my friends' xbox. I guess I'll try DvdDecrypter for the time being until I get some feedback. Thanks for your help.

Hi ScarletSpider and welcome to HQ!..

Ok.. I would suggest using DVDDecrypter to burn the dvd-r of AIDeluxe.. Smile
You can get it to fit onto a CDRW but you have to not include the dummy file when you re-create the xiso.

So, for now i would just burn using DVDDecrypter to a DVD-R and you should be fine.. CDRW is a bugger anyway as they dont always work in every xbox.. Its best to find a DVD-R which will boot in most..

good luck and hope you like the site.

DVDDecrypter is a great, and very powerful program... Even yells at ya if you have the wrong damned sic in o.O. But as far as getting it to fit on a 650mb CD-RW, here's what I suggest:

1. Download Qwix, or C-Xbox2
2. Load the ISO in either program
3. Extract the ISO to an easily accessable folder (My Documents?)
4. Browse through the various folders and delete things you know you won't use. (XBMC? That's well over 100mb, I believe, and should give you the leeway to drop it below 650)
5. Open Qwix or C-XbocTool2, and recompile the edited folder into an .iso file.
6. Burn with Nero or DVDDecrypter onto your CD-RW

Also, if you think that burning just AID by itself onto a DVD-R is a waste, then use the ISO updater to addon ROMPacks and the Skinpacks, and you should have a fully loaded .iso around 3.5 gigs Very Happy I added on all of the ROMPacks and SKinPacks that the HQ servers offer, and my disc is full to the brim Very Happy

And lastly, some of those ROMpacks have some... questionable content. So, you can customize the addons to your liking and still update them, or create your own addon packs for certain apps, emus and dashboards. Experement!

thanks for the tips, i got the dvd-r to work on my thomson and my friends xbox. But, however, I accidently loaded a modchip dash. So now the ms dash wont load. I get the xbox error screen. Now I'm trying to get that crap to go away and the options from the MechAssault Linux or AID dont seem to compensate. Any of you guys hear of anyone else doing the same? How can I restore the ms dash? And yeah, this is my first time modding another xbox.

Ah, nevermind. Whatever I did, it's fixed. Only thing now, when my dvd tray is closed it goes to UnleashX. When it's open it goes to the SID on my xbox. My xbox is a softmod, if you haven't guessed already; I have one xbox that loads UnleashX regardless if the tray is open or closed. So how do I replicate this?

Resoftmod using SID3 or 4, and choose "Singleboot". For a singleboot, I'd reccomend 3, real simple and to the point. 4 offers the greater funs of life, like being able to access live with your softmod. Give SID3 a run, and see how that goes for ya

Lol, I was using SID3. I got AID with SID3, and ran the MA exploit. When the SID menu first appears, was there something I forgot to do? I dont remember seeing single boot. But then again, my friend's tv is ultra crappy and it's hard to read anything.

the menu hierarchy will go like this "Install Softmod"--->"Single Boot"(I usually use the PBL) --->"Boot C:\ Drive Dashboard" then you should be gold.

Hmmm, mine says install softmod>install nkpatcher + MS Dash>C:, E:, etc. Do I have SID2 or something? It's in a folder that's called SID3 though.. I don't know. One xbox i modded goes to Unleash regardless and the other only with the tray closed on startup.

no, no no, you're right, but choose the option below MSDash, then choose "boot from C"
